I have made some pinetree models which I can give you. I will need to work on them a little more but I will let you know when they are done. They are ultra-low poly. Only 4 polys per tree which means you spam an entire forest with those models.

I am a great fan of open world maps. But making those in the HL engine is very challanging. Not impossible but difficult. I assume the r_speeds in this screenshot must be terrible.
Careful planning is the most important step when making such a map in HL.
I see you have a particle system there. But you should put some more work into that smoke. Having a particle system is one half. Making cool smoke with it is the other (its also the part that is fun).
Sorry if this has been asked before. But will it be possible to disable all these effects so I can play your game with my 8 year old computer which runs Freelancer perfectly but fails at new games?
Thanks for your input. The code pannels are indeed annoying. But there is not much I can do about it. Thats the old HL-engine. I put the footprintsign on the floor to indicate that you have to stand centered in front of the pannel. Then it will work ok.
I just played the english version and it is awesome! I know that it is very hard to find talented voice actors for mods but you guys did an amazing job.
I can recommend both versions!
Russian: Although I don´t understand a word the mod is perfectly playable. The voice adds to the atmosphere and russian is a beautiful language.
English: Very good voiceacting here with a british accent. Finally I can understand what is going on in this game!
First: mapping for HL is allways a good idea. I do it too :)
Your screenshots don´t look bad but I am really tired of BM. Sure you might say I could just avoid your mod. But it bothers me: Why do so many people invest so much time and energy to recreate something that has been done a thousand times before?
I will try your mod and give you more feedback later.

Aurora is a particle-system that is incorporated in SoHL. It works very nicely and you can do some awesome effects with it. There should be a tutorial in the aurora-folder that explains everything. Just read the tutorial and start by modifing the existing particle effects! Good luck!

beam with your body, shortly before the train reaches the second
beam.

I can only recommend this mod. It is very funny and the mapping quality is extraordinary.
Be warned though that this mod is extremely difficult. On the first glance it will seem as if only cheats can get you through the game. You literally need a whole to pass one obstacle.

Actually I am working on a flamethrower for the player to use in this map. So smoking should not be a problem.
