Will the AI less cheating in the steam version?
Hmmmm a pacific Mod that´s compatible with Eastern Front, so you can play battles in the Manchuria (Russia vs Japan)

After many matches 1v1 and Coop, we (my friends and i)came to the conclusion, the Ostherr is completely underpowered. The infantry lacks of firepower, we have to send 2 Landser squads against 1 conscript squad, and still loose around 6 men. While on russian side, a few squads with Spagins, and they wipe out every infantry.
And one bug i´ve encountered, in some games, my machinge guns cannot supress the enemy AI anymore. It happens somewhat every second game 1v1. No matter how long they shoot at an enemy, they just keep moving, while my troops get pinned down as normal.

OH-Oh...TGW creates a conflict, no one knows exactly what causes this. At least the TGW modder has no clue.
You have to create a Steam.exe shortcut on your desktop and add this line:
-applaunch 228200 -dev -mod Eastern_Front
then it should work again. But you bypass the EF Launcher.
EF is meant to be like an addon, adding new factions but keep the available vanilla factions untouched.
how do i heal my ostfront troops?
Veterancy 1 description says my troops get medipacks, but there aren´t ones. And a skill in fortress doctrines says that troops will heal near those pillboxes/Mg-nests, but nothing happens.
Why not give them medic squads, limited to 2, always available not matter which doctrine is used? Or medical stations like the Brits have?

Maybe bring the Hungarian Army as a minimod for Eastern Front? Would be cool, since Hungary played a kinda big role in WW2 for the Germans.
i hope your AI Coder removes the ability for the AI to see through the fog of war. Found out WHY the AT Guns are so OP (even on germans), the AI has a much higher line of sight, if they even have a fog of war.
And since it is mentioned "improved AI", not for the friendly ones. Playing 3 vs 3 with 2 friendly AI is playing "Me vs 3".
While the enemy makes well coordinated attacks, the friendly just drive and walk around aimless.
i could build the Kugelblitz yesterday, so this one´s still there.
Though the mod makes CoH1 way better than CoH2, it still has it´s flaws.
Red Army seems more powerful than the Ostherr. When playing vs AI, i finish a skirmish faster with the russians than with the krauts. Can it be that a single russian soldier has the same firepower as german soldier?
And the range of the russian AT gun seems to be way more longer as the german.
meh, instead of having almost unlimited player respawns in casual mode, i´d rather see a "no-respawning zombies" mode.

One thing that still bugs the hell out of me, Machine Guns/Automatic Rifles. All MG´s/AR´s should be able to fire from the hip and aimed unsupported, of course with horrible recoil. And be deployed even if you are not prone, like it is in PR. The Bren f.e. can only be deployed on prone position, the Breda otherwise can be deployed in standing position. The MG34 and 42 are pretty useless for me, since those can ONLY be fired AND deployed in prone. I AM AWARE that is somehow for "balancing" porpuses, and the BF2 engine cannot handle the function to let MG´s deploy on object.
Otherwise it´s a beautiful mod, but the issue i´ve stated above doesn´t make it perfect (not trying to sound like an arse)

Since me and my friends use the HD version now for online play (more stable), this mod needs to released for the HD version too!

I cannot start this game. First i had to unpack the opengl rar file, since there was no GL DLL in the directory, second i always get something like "Cannot run resolution in fullscreen" and "Bad mode" etc.
This mod brings a tear in my eye.

After years, i can play finally it again (at least the steam versions)
HT runs fine, though it stutters if i turn the camera OR a huge shadow of an airplane appears (if someone know a fix, let me know plz).
Second, DA runs too, combined with the Widescreen mod, BUT it always gives me an error at startup, something in french, and it mentions kernel32.dll. But after clickong ok, the game starts. (to be mentioned, this error already occurs before using your fix)
Watched the video, epic music, and i love it how it does NOT zoom in when using the sights, giving it a bit realism.
But what i don´t like, if not hate, the bloom graphic effect.
I have a, for me, huge problem. Emissions always show up when i´m in the middle of nowhere. "Find shelter" is the task, yeah, finding shelter in an abandoned house doesn´t count, the emission kills me, great. I have to find a SPECIFIC shelter, that is unreachable for me, no matter what i try. 3rd time i started a new game, 3rd time i run into this problem.
Though it is plagued with bugs, especially the further you get in this game, i like it! I love the new levels, and those small underground areas like in Cordon.
I know my q sounds stupid, but i have played too many "realism" mods in the past 15 years that have added everything except realism.
But i gonna give it a try this weekend ;)
Hello, does this mod fix the correct magazine sizes of the guns? (like the G3a3 has now 20rds instead 30). There´s no info in the changelogs about that.
