TAZ 2.0

First of all, we should thank Erayser and [TZP]LoNer1 for their splendid work on the source codes of ModDB "ModDB staff are to be thanked too!", with their work I managed to pull out a nice new design for our humble TAZ. The code is originally made by Erayser and heavily modified by LoNer1 for use in multiple mods, RADIUM, GHOST LAND, MISERY, I took several codes from the three mods and made few more touches to get a special look for TAZ.

Now the progress. You may have noticed a drop on speed after the release of 1.7.4, I have explained this before, no more updates till Misery 2.2 is out, only than TAZ will kick in again with new updates, and the first release will be 2.0, however, the development is still running, and this is obviously noticable through the constantly uploaded screenshots, so bear with us folks!

Many vanilla weapons has been replaced with HQ models, and many new weapons has been added, here are few samples from both parts :

The M590 will take place of the Winchester-1300 as we don't have any good quality models, once we get a proper model we will restore it.

Things you don't know :

You will never know everything about a mod as long as it's still being WIP, so always expect the unexpected. Here are stuff that I won't bother introducing for now :3 but I will put a proper introduction some other time.

And finally, let me introduce Trapper's gift, the mighty Engraved double barrel! this will take place of the vanilla Winchester-1300 you get from trapper as a reward, I never liked that poor thing anyways, so here is a much beautiful gift for you stalkers, work your a** hard for it. Here are two Spreadsheets I made in MS. Excel to keep track and things organized :

Vanilla weapons : This list contains all Misery 2.2 weapons and their status including knives, detectors, grenades, basically everything you see in your hands.

Featured in 2.0 : This list contains only the stuff 2.0 will bring, nothing will be replaced from the vanilla.

Both lists are still WIP, the first will stop once there are no remaining vanilla, the second won't stop at any number as long as we're breathing ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

P.S : It is better to download the files and open them in MS. Excel in order to get a proper view.

Hi bro, its me again, how have you been? You should really release an update man, It has been almost 3 years already. It is really not worth to wait for Misery 2.2

You say wuuut? Misery 2.2 is not worthy of the wait? how could you say such a thing about our beloved Misery? Misery is why TAZ exist man! and TAZ 2.0 is made purely for M2.2, there is no way on earth I'd release an update before Misery, I'm an MDT, so I know what I'm talking about when I say 2.2 is coming out :)

Yes, for me it is not worth the wait anymore, I mean come on, It's been almost 3 years now. All the excitement I had for Misery and your mod is almost gone. It's not like we're getting younger. I tried playing back again but it's nothing like 3 years ago. Everything is so outdated now that better engine mechanics came out in some modern games today.

You know well that both mods are getting updated constantly, and surely people know that Misery 2.2 is near the release. Rushing any update won't help. Patient young padawan, patient, once released all the pain of waiting will be paid damn well!

Also, once a stalker, always a stalker. Stalkers don't age, they get experience :3

Just a thought when the addon is live and ready, will the weapon zoom when ironsighted in and in scope zoom be super close or far? Scopes I'm ok with as long as they don't feel like I'm trying to look at a guy pick his nose. But for Ironsights it just makes me feel awkward as I put my cheeks right next the ironsight of my rifle or my pistol right on the edge of my nose. Hopefully you disable the zoom on ironsights but not on scope (idk if this is even possible). But anyways good luck on the updates and have a safe travel through the zone.

When aiming the weapon the eye is focusing on the target and you have better vision, that's not exactly zoom but that's the only thing that can "emulate" the real-life focus, so it will stay. It won't be cyborg-eyes like zoom, but a slight zoom-in. Pistols and some SMGs/machine pistols won't have the zoom since they're only for CQB anyway.

Zoom for all guns was reworked to be more realistic, pistols give almost no zoom, just a little focus to reflect real life when you concentrate when aiming. SMGs add a little bit more zoom compared to pistols, ARs and long rifles are what gives you some zoom, but nothing as in vanilla, you still need to focus in order to score shots on distant targets.

Rest assured, I hate zoomed iron sights so much, and I took this matter seriously as I'm a sucker for iron sights :D

That being said, some ARs and long rifles will keep high zoom, and this is only due to the model having a fat a** stock that clips through the vision. But they are very few, and you probably won't give a damn about them since we got about 600+ weapons :D

(Skip until P.S. for answer, the rest is just some nonsense with unfunny jokes about Ivan and his ugly Snoker lover)

If you are playing as a sniper, you get 25% zoom when aiming on ironsights, so you can see farther in the distance and spot Ivan lame *** without need for scope.
But I think you are complaning about the character zooming too much, so here is my answer to that, there are three classes, right? Each one is more used to some weapons then others, right? Mr.Sniper cannot control high RPM weapons, right? Mr.Sniper cannot resist bullets and shot with MGs, right? But can Sr.Scout and Lord Tachan... I mean, Dr.Assault aim as well with a Custom SVD as Mr.Sniper to a Ivan's lard *** at 200 meters distance? No.

P.S: Okay, the more compatible you are with a weapon e.x. Assaulter uses assault rifle, the more easy is to handle it, therefore your character is more used to his shape and handling wich results in his head being near the the ironsight thus letting the player see more while having steadier aim, in the countrary case e.x. Scout uses assault rifle, his head will be farther from the ironsight, therefore he being able to less enemy on sight while more evarioment is visable, thus making aiming harder while moving or being confined space or trying to tack the enemy movement.

TL;DR: Head closer to sight = Good. Head not so close = Bad.

Im currently 2 weeks into my playthrough of Misery and i just installed Armed Zone today. My savegame cannot be loaded and it crashes when it reaches "the zone awaits you". I dont have an ak105, lr-300 or FAR 15 anywhere in my game. Starting a new game works fine though. How can I fix this?

Well, you can't fix that, TAZ requires a new game.

lol yeah, probably it was savegame compatible... with older version of TAZ. not Misery itself. such mods change too much to be compatible. you will have to delete whole gamedata folder and reinstall Misery. you can keep the core game and saves intact.

Got it working again by deleting the files manually and doing a clean install of the base game + misery mod. Thanks for replying :)

Perfect mod, was always disappointed by the current Misery having still vanilla guns and anims, now with this mod the full Misery experience is finally given.
