A couple more ideas:
THWACK! - This perk requires 20 points to unlock. This allows you to get a nice big melee weapon on a round start, and a 15/20% increase in melee damage, but this big 'ol beating stick isn't sharing your iventory space, so it'll replace your main weapon.
Mr Nerd: costs 35 points. When you activate a technology-based objective, such as a radio, the objective becomes slightly easier, and you can use keypads, which could activate traps or close breakable doors etc etc.
Veteran - You are a war veteran, and you are more aware of ammunition, able to carry more clips, and reload quickly. However, you are older than the others, and have less health, to make the Veteran a support ability.
Flare launcher - upgrade for flares, allows you to fire then over a distance to create decoys for the enemy and even set them on fire! However, the extra load makes you 15% slower than your less-well-off teammates.
Dr slice - as a former medical student/doctor, you know exactly where to land that bayonet for a clean(ish) kill. Increases melee damage for bayonets and combat knives. Bleed damage is lowered, but a melee attack will slow an ememy down slightly for when you want an escape from 1 or 2 necromorphs.
Home on the range - A paper target was your best buddy- at least until you filled him with holes and replaced him. Your practice with guns means your weapons are in better condition, and you can use them more efficiently.
Finally..... IT'S MAH BIRTHDAY!!! - a perk which gives your playermodel a cute little party hat. it's a just-for-laughs ability, and a birthday sound is played on a headshot kill (like in Halo 3 - grunt birthday party skull!)
Shotgun Heavy Frag rounds - Gives the shotgun a knockback effect on a close-range hit, but decreases accuracy. can be toggled on purchase.
Shotgun Slug rounds - the shotgun fires slug shots instead of buckshot (slug rounds fire very accurately, but the shotgun only uses basic ironsights, and there's no increase in fire rate. Can be toggled upon purchase.
Binoculars/Thermal Vision scope - allows the player to scout objectives from a distance - the thermal scope is an upgrade from binoculars, not a gun sight, and the user is left vulnerable while using them (slower run speed, binoculars/scope bob up and down while moving)
Big Bad O' Bombs - when the user gets below 10 health or is killed, the bag o' bombs explodes, damaging everything in close range. This can also affect your teammates, so bag o' bombs players would make easier targets for taking down groups. The bag is meant for last-stands, where you want to get a kill just after you finally die.
i agree with maniac. I love the mod, but sometimes i wanna do more than shoot combine and fish :P i'd keep this mod on my steam list forever if you made a puzzle map or two.... pleeeease?? XD
This mod kicks ***, but the reward sword only gets about 5 uses before recharging :( but apart from that, this is, undeniably, one of the most entertaining mods for oblivion. We REALLY need more mods like this XD

danynator i had the same problem with a mod to improve the cheydinhal abandoned house, confuses me as well.
*SPOILER* the riddle mentions a claw or something like that, so do the quest for the countess (go figure) and keep your eyes open *SPOILER*
For some reason, when i try to use this mod none of the hair/eye/body models work even if i uninstall all but the mod's requirements. why is this? (E.G. the place where the eyes should be are empty, letting you see through to the wall behind)

I'm sure i installed something wrong, because when i add the data files and launch the game, most of the NPC's eyes turn black and some of the heads don't load, so you can see right through them :S can anyone help?

The main problem with the Oblivion compass is that it shows EVERYTHING at once sometimes, so only the important stuff should show up. i agree with bikkebakke on the idea of it being toggled, so maybe something like Fallout: New Vegas' hardcore mode?
anyway, this mod's got me interested, and i'm not the only one so keep it going and good luck :)

1 question: is there going to be any other human NPCs in the map? the idea sounds like it drifts into FPSRPG (guess for yourself) like Fallout 3, so having NPCs that could react to actions like stealing their car or murder would be a good idea.
Large range of weapons.... how about a few nice cars to go with it?

is there any kind of "theme" for the weapons in this mod? (e.g not just AK47s and M4A1s, the kind of guns the average person would find first in an apocalypse like handguns and shotguns)

3 and 4 look like some kinda "elite" soldiers but 1 and 2 are still awesome! is this how the guards/soldiers in the game are going to look for certain or are they going to be changed slightly when being modelled?
time trial sounds great, but wouldn't it ruin the idea of a heavy class?

I can proudly say that i love this mod. It's original, creative, and it's a nice break from the same old "let's just shoot all the combine" levels of some other mods. The one thing this mod needs now is a sequel that is just as amazing as this one, so if you are going to make one, that is beyond epic. If not, ah well and thank you for such a fantastic half-life 2 mod!

pro: on activation, makes the necromorph invisible, ideal for ambushes.
cons: the necromorph must stand still while invisible/cannot attack and every second of invisibility costs the necromorph health up to a limit of 50% health, after that point they cannot use this ability until above 50% health
