If you wanted realistic combat, wouldn't you keep the medic kit and just add in a bleeding factor and perhaps an inability to revive? Or revive at 15% health with bleeding.
And furthermore, it doesn't make a lot of sense that you'd remove snipers. This isn't 1870; snipers have become an integral part of any nation's armed forces.
I don't understand the merit of realism when there are games like Red Orchestra that contain a disgusting amount of it out of the box. I'd prefer Battlefield 2 with some World War II weapons and sounds is all.
Also, if Rumania is in the game, wouldn't it be fitting to have Finland as well? Or perhaps some sort of Allied Expeditionary Force, or a simple distinction between Siberian conscripts and Ukranian infantry?
The Uzi is a weapon designed and fielded by the Israeli forces. I don't know where the distinction of it being a terrorist weapon came from, but I believe that it's largely incorrect. The Israeli's made the Desert Eagle too.
Great, another Battlefield: Counterstrike. A lot of the distinguishing factors about certain armies is their mechanized capabilities. While it doesn't necessitate fighter jets and ultra tanks, Humvees and APC's are pretty integral to realistic insertion and infantry support. To negate vehicles altogether just turns things into a forward to forward bloodbath.
How exactly do you intend to mold World War I into the ETW engine? I mean, you'd have to totally remove the formation aspect of the game.

No, but take 500 army men and sit 500 bazookas at your feet. Then mix it up with all of your binocular guys, snipers, bayonets, and so on. It's more aesthetically pleasing for just a few simple texture changes.
Not to mention that these Germans seem to be missing some vital gear.

In regards to artillery, I was just wondering how you would be able to have trenches and men within them to be resilient against artillery - when in the game now a 105 Howitzer strike can basically wipe out anything.

Sure the Germans lost the Battle of the Bulge, but that was a tactical error.
And really, the American losses are placed higher than the German losses in that battle. They lost to Russian Draftees as well. A lot of Russian draftees. Ones that were being forced to fight to the death in the most squalid conditions imaginable.
And who had unimaginably superior tanks, both quantity and quality. (I'm not saying a T-34 can trumph a Tiger one on one, but let's be realistic in saying that Tiger's approximated an extremely small part of the German Panzer forces).

I can't help but feel repulsed at the fact that Stormtroopers are the back bone of every enemy's army when they were in fact quite the opposite. Stormtroopers really only came into effect on such a scale in the closing months following the Spring Offensive of 1918, and in some isolated areas on the Eastern front the year before.
The whole basis of the early years of the first world war were human wave attacks and mass artillery supremacy, which only increased in intensity as time went on.
That and, shouldn't the machine gun squad be more accurate and more deadly?
I just hope they add in more accurate looking terrain and period buildings to help with the atmosphere.

Grenadiers and Stormtroopers were done later on in 1916-1918, and up to that point it had been mostly saturation bombardment and human wave attacks. Is the aim of this mod realism?

Firegraft is used to change the buttons of units, and the requirements you need to build them, among other things. (Like how with a ghost you need a science facility and academy to build them, if you use firegraft you can make it not need them.)
It also can change certain values in the .exe's, like how fast shields recharge, how much more range range upgrades give, what units players start out with, etc.

Although keep in mind that there is always a barrier between you and a reader, as the reader cant see what you see. Thats why a visual theme (AKA movies, etc.) is good, but then you dont know what the characters FEELS So im trying to get around that. I figure that a book with pictures is the best idea, so keep that in mind. Im gonna enhance my skills with Photoshop to make that possible..

Sorry for double posting and all that (you can delete it when your done reading it) but, in a manner of speaking, Halo 2 IS on the PC. See, what someone did was take their Xbox (modded, of course) and ethernet it to their PC, then they tricked the Xbox into thinking the PC was an XPC Server, and transfered the Halo 2 files to their PC. Then they imported all the character models and levels and such into Halo 1 and...... wa-la!
Halo 2 for the PC! Or if you're a programming guru, i guess you could convert the .xbe's into .exe's....................
