Managed to get into the Desura closed beta. That's pretty much all I've done of note on this site.
How to get games Desura tracks:
1) Open the menu (Desura button to the left of your avatar in the client), go to Tools and click on "Custom Install Path"
2) Click "Update Games List"
3) From the drop down box, pick a game that you own, and then use Browse in that row to point towards where you installed it.
4) Click on Add to add a new row for a new game as desired.
5) When you're all done, click on OK again.
6) Go back to the menu > Tools > Installed Wizard, and follow the instructions.
Do have to concur with Toady. MTA has been around since GTA 3. The small fact that SA-MP lacks a ModDB profile also helps.
I'm just going to point out that the banner on the news article still has "A Half Life 2 Modification" on it.
I'd like to think that the "very exciting announcement" next week is a Desura open beta date.
I think it's more of a "garrysmod.org only allows torrents of things greater than 5MB, let's jump ship for our stable downloads" thing, or something.
The thing is, I doubt you'll be able to make much use of Wiremod in vanilla NS2. Unless you're suggesting they make a Garry's Mod clone?
Any Valve game released after Half Life 2 or Half Life 2 itself that you paid for should work.
It's a Half Life 1 mod, not a Source mod.
Moddb.com There ya go.
I look forward to the opportunity to download all these mods on Desura.
Having played the demo of Reckless Disregard, I approve of this development. Remind me to buy it sometime.
Congrats on the Original Art Direction nod. I presume that increases your chances of getting this mod Desura'd by quite a bit.
That wasn't Valve: that was ModDB's own Henley (and presumably why it's on Desura...)
The official Valve word on this mod is "Oh, awesome!"
So, basically do what the Natural Selection 2 guys are doing and no-one will complain too loudly.
Still "Coming Soon" over at Desura...
Wait, what? They released it on Desura already?
*goes off to have a look*
They are on Desura, however.
Perhaps you should upload it to Newgrounds or Kongregate or something.
First, Platanum Arts Sandbox give away three copies of this, now ModDB is giving away another three copies!
(For reference, the Sandbox contest is over here: Moddb.com ).
You realise you just installed a soon to be outdated version of the mod?
Quick, someone start a Red Alert version of this before the A Path Beyond developers notices!
They're still uploading it.
Two minutes, gentlemen.
[Edit] Scratch that: delay announced in Shoutcast stream. (Still uploading, come back in half an hour!)
@Setis: That and the fact that at least a third of the ideas has got buried for no good reason. I'm hoping the sheer amount of buried comments in this thread makes the developers decide to give the awards to the ideas they judge best, not one idea judged best and one idea that happened to be submitted last.
Idea: Telepathic Radar
Ability: Increasing the intensity of the parasite's telepathy, is able to locate the position of enemies temporarily (for about 15 seconds).
Pro: The ability to see where your enemies are, even through walls.
Con: Lose the ability to locate fellow Necrotrophs for about 60 seconds, 25% health loss.
First question: Overgrowth: YES and an Impulse key too. Natural Selection 2: unconfirmed, highly likely. I think they intend to use Steamworks, but don't quote me on that one. (i.e., if you buy the package now, you will be guaranteed a Steam and Impulse copy of Overgrowth on launch as well as the standard versions, but there's no guarantee on you receiving a Steam copy of Natural Selection 2 on launch yet: although this is highly likely.)
Second Question: YES, you get the Special Edition in this package.
I'm going for the honest approach here.
Nah, it's an alphabetical list.
It's built on ModDB. Literally: the "Support" tab of the client takes you to the Support section of the ModDB forums, for example. The profiles of the mods that have got on mirror their ModDB profiles, aside from a few small extras (like optional videos for the top banners).
