Since NES/Master System II times I collected nearly any console, kept my games and got a self build arcade machine in the kitchen (including MAME and a loooot of games). Music production started with ejay program's. Later I moved on to Fruity Loops/Studio, which I'm using until today. I really love the Stalker games and am fascinated from the zone. Here on moddb.com I try to keep up some sort of support for the German fanbase. If any of you modder guys out there thinks you need a German translation, send me a message. We enjoyed more or less the summer and were a bit lazy, but now we go back at work again. Next maingoal is to finish the all.spawn works, so we can focus on missions.

Still looking for some useful stuff like dynamic campfires, or document reader for CS.

It was about CoP but it fits also to Clear Sky. Even with freeplay you will run out of triggers for respawn. Freeplay wasn't planed, same goes for the respawn. They build in some functions for respawn... but if you guys remember, the respawn in vanilla CS is quite a joke if it isn't triggered by an event, or info portion.

This is the main reason for me to rebuild the respawns in CS/ZOTH. Until now 6 Levels are working quite well with it but there some more levels to be filled with enemies^^

In the meantime I was trying to setup random missions. If this will work, you can choose between 3 or maybe more types of jobs, the targets will be spawned random all over the zone and in the levels you have already visited. At the moment we got 'search item' (PDA,Stick, Bagpack), 'headhunter' (obvious^^) and 'delivery'.

What? Of course do they work. I can even post a compare screenshot in all possible resolutions. 1024, 2048 and 4096 and you will see the difference quite clear.

Yes! This is the kind of details you should keep an eye on.
I focused some works on this "lower level" of detail on many things in the zone. Even small textures, corrected vegetation, or just a correct way leading to a level. If you look around carefully in our zone, you will find many little things like this.
The globalmap took until my ages until now to implement correct ways to levels. even all new added levels will have fitting roads, or small ways which will lead to the levels. And if you might not see a way, you should suppose that the way is going beneath the trees. The ways you will be traveling through the zone should always be logical.

Errr.... We just build in some new levels and we still need to fill them with alife, mission, ambient and things like that.
The base is stable but the zone is quite empty in this stage. After the main scripting is done, I guess the biggest part is also done. Then we still have to add missions, conversations and so on.

And even a guess from my side isn't possible at the moment. Some days everything runs smooth and a few days later its raining s**t! So... its not possible to give a release date with this funny xray factor.

But we are working... nearly everyday something is done.

It's hard to be patient.. I know.
We do our best to get this baby ready for you stalkers out there. ;)

Faction War... nope... but we try to build in a proper alife and respawn including faction mission and stuff like that, so you maybe won't miss the faction war that much.

Almost all CS Levels except stancia and hospital, are the base. On top of it by now we got some nice new (to CS) maps.

Most vanilla CS levels are not vanilla anymore, they are custom versions from other mods with changed geometry and sometimes expanded areas. 'Dead areas' which can be found quite often in levels, were filled with stuff like details, sometimes house, or quest points.

From the 'filling the world with something to do' point of view, we are thrown back at the moment caused by the new levels. This will be a lot of work to do, to fill all this areas with a proper alife, quests, dialogs and so on.

Ok... I didn't find anything useful and for free so I will head out a take my own pics of tree barks. The trees are quite common around here, mabye this will lead to a satisfying result.

Biggest problem are to old soc mutant trees like they are placed on the radar. And the variation of the barks is quite small. Lets see, what we can change here^^

Well yes, the grass will be change a little bit more concerning the color. The ground texture is quite ok I'm standing beside trees so its a little bit darker there. But there is also some work to be done, because we need to create the bump and normal map for the ground.

Compared to vanilla its a nice difference^^

Aye, three new levels are build in atm. Some are updated, like bar and radar. The new ones are jupiter underground, aver and dead ciy.:)

Thanks man! Well, concerning the music, you should be aware that some tracks will be changed. But don't worry: The bandit song will still remain! But several others will be/are changed. Cordon got new music, as well as the marsh. The freedom radio has also changed.

I hope to find the right touch for this. I'm a musician myself so I hope this will help me with my decisions.^^

There are several places like this. Other places like smart terrains, or bases are quite more detailed and then we have places like the one above. A lot of space and no use for it.

And this is only one example of dozens in almost every level.

And thats how I placed several objects in the world for filling empty areas.

But as long as we don't use the SDK it always a bit tricky.

Limansk was designed as a 'rush through' level and that's it. Freeplay was never planed and so it was no big surprise that you have problems to go back after the construction site.

I walk around this empty city now and try to visualize things that could happened there. At the moment the entire level is totally empty and stable. So its the perfect time to set it up with a new life. :)

Something like that, exactly! And its also the reason why its taking so much time. I refuse to fill the levels with default quests... there shall be stories to be told and also be a part of them. Not just 'pick that box and carry it over there'.

And I'm playing games now since 25 years but its still a quite hard task to create missions although I have seen so many good games in the all the years^^
