I'd imagine that Chiss vehicles wouldn't have the controls nicely labeled in Basic.

First, I'd just like to say this a really cool mod, and I've enjoyed more than a few games of GC using it.
Not sure how many of you would be interested, but there appears to be a new game Timothy Zahn is working on. It's not Star Wars, but it looks intriguing and it'd be cool to see what the creator of Grand Admiral Thrawn comes up with.

It's probably better that you aren't working for a company anyway. You can do whatever you want and don't have to worry about sacrificing quality for some sales deadline. I doubt any "professional" design group would ever create something like this mod.
Looks like a colossal squid with turbolasers. I approve.
These seem a little out of place, considering they were pretty much stock ships in the alliance fleet 100 years later. One of the Star Destroyers, Right to Rule I believe, that was used by Pellaeon as his flagship and was the oldest in the Imperial Fleet, even though, assuming it was one of the first Imperial I Star Destroyers built, it was only 50 years old. Imperial I's were replaced by Imperial II's about 20 years later. I'm just saying 100 years is a little long for a ship class to be in standard use by a major military, even assuming it was only prototyped a century before.
R.I.P. Chewbacca...
Fleet Commander bonus? So some ships are going to be designated as flagships?
I am curious about how yammosks are going to be used. If you are playing as the Vong, and this gets destroyed, does that mean that your ships will be harder to command? (i.e., bigger ships can still be commanded since they have villips, but coralskippers can't, since they rely entirely on the yammosk)
There are three kinds of people. Those who say we need bigger guns, those who say we need more guns, and those who say we need both.
I think this mod is for people that fall in that third category.
The New Republic looks like it's done messing around.
It looks like it just wants a hug... or to eat you. Take your pick.
Are there going to be any situations in the mod were sending a single ship would be advantageous?
It might not be all bad. Perhaps Movie VII will be based on the Truce at Bakura novel. Darth Vader does come back as a force ghost trying to get Leia's forgiveness.
Perhaps some of these?

Otherwise, I'd bet they'd just use regular New Republic fighters. The Mon Cal shipyards seem focused on larger ships anyways.
I think those cluster bombs were one of the most OP abilities in vanilla FoC. Too bad for the Vong.
Looks like it will be able to deliver devastating broadsides, especially in the midst of a multi-ship slugfest, but am I correct in saying it's going to have more trouble approaching and leaving battle (considering the forward and rear facing weapons have been reduced)?
YES! I like the new look, it looks much more interesting than vanilla Mon Cal cruisers. I especially enjoy they're getting some carrier capability now, since the New Republic has such awesome fighters.
Can it track targets, or does it only fly in a straight line?
I agree. SSDs were very powerful, but they certainly weren't unstoppable superweapons. If Arvel Crynyd (either the luckiest or the least lucky A-Wing pilot ever) taught us anything, they look a lot more impressive than they actually are. Worldships, on the other hand, were irreplaceable (the SSD might have been too, but the resources required to build one could be put to a lot better use building several smaller, more versatile capital ships) but they didn't have any convenient weak spots, and they packed a lot of firepower. So Wedge traded one above-par capital ship for destroying an extremely valuable enemy resource, not to mention a major boost to New Republic morale. I think that was an extremely wise decision on Wedge's part.
Will they take an extended amount of time to repair if they're damaged in battle, instead of healing instantly like ships do in vanilla EaW? (This would be once a battle is complete and you've returned to the galactic map.)
I get the feeling there aren't going to be many civilians left on Vong-occupied worlds...
So many worldships...
Is each one going to have it's own unique feature, like creating Voxyn?
Are capital ships supposed to be arriving from hyperspace upside down? They just flip themselves back over, but it looks pretty hilarious.
This is going to be awesome.
Well, I've never played EVE, so I guess I can't tell the difference anyway.
Are EVE models going to be in the game, or was this just for testing purposes? And by the way, 222 of these things on one map? This mod is going to be AWESOME.
Considering Thrackan Sal-Solo's illustrious history, this is not going to end well.
I would think ship capturing for the purpose of acquiring a new warship doesn't make much sense in this conflict anyway. The Yuuzhan Vong destroy any machinery they get their hands on, and Yuuzhan Vong ships are just too strange for the Alliance to be able to operate a ship effectively. Still, perhaps capturing a ship could provide other benefits, like some new anti-Vong tactics for the Alliance (yammosk jammers, for example) or slave troops/sacrifices for the Yuuzhan Vong?
It's not that the hero ships are massively overpowered when compared to, say, another capital ship, its that they are often available so early in the game that the only thing available to throw at them are frigates that stand no xhance whatsoever. This can be pretty devastating, as you might imagine.
