More Warb awesomeness!

I have always loved this model :)

So, it is a slow moving heavy armored gunship that fires missiles too. A little overpowered, but it does fly slower than a Nebulon B. The main disadvantage of this ship is that it has weak shields.

Just for the record, this not my model. It's a port from SW Galaxies. I did rig it back then but that's it.

That would explain why so much was damaged and I had to rebuild half the model...

If only gaming studios employed us....

If gaming companies were looking to hire, a mod page filled with second grade game creators like moddb would be the last place they'd look. There's people with university studies out there who cannot get a job at a studio, we modders are the last people caming gompanies would hire.

It's probably better that you aren't working for a company anyway. You can do whatever you want and don't have to worry about sacrificing quality for some sales deadline. I doubt any "professional" design group would ever create something like this mod.

Joy of joys, the engine hardpoint (probably) isn't at the back, so when it tries to flee it doesn't get instantly fixed to the spot :D

Unless of course the AI is Very intelligent...

lol, it hinks that it looks nice and crepy weird at the same time, like a space wharehouse with wings and turbos.

Many Hutt ships will have a "Freighter" like appearance since many heavy transports were converted to war vessels .

It's bigger than I would have guess it would be... or the Rapa'pir is smaller than I thought it would be maybe... and I'm shocked how small the Imperial corvette with the hanger in the split nose is.

Yeah I thought it was the size of a victory star destroyer

For Scaling Sizes:

The imperial customs's corvette did not have a hanger. The forked prongs were docking clamps for grasping hold of light freighter as shown in this pic: Starwars.wikia.com

Look at the cockpit of that freighter, it is comparable to the cockpit of the MFalcon, which seats 4.

The cockpit of the Baan'Sheedii seats about 4.
The DP20 has an operating crew of 10, room for 60
Nebulon B has crew of 300, room for 800

The "Drake" has a cockpit cabin at the join between the back section and the forward wing section. This command section is comparable to the bridge section of the Custom's Frigate and the dome of the the Rapa'piir.

All of the sizs are up for a little speculation and in truth, the Drake could have also been made to be 1/2 of the size it is now. If the size was reduced, the amount of weapons would also need to be reduced, and the ship would drop in class from Frigate size to Corvette size.

If this is preferred, we can do this, if there is enough community desire to see the ship smaller.

"Gunship" suits it just fine I think :)

After some consideration, the "drake" will be reduced in size. The giant wing design is more suited to atmospheric/space flight instead of space alone. A smaller size is more suitable.

While also on the topic of sizing and scale , the Hutt Destroyer has been enlarged in size. It is now 1.5 times larger, changing its class from destroyer to battleship.

Is the Hutt Destroyer the same thing as the Rapapiir or the Traekaata Dorii?

The Hutts certainly shouldn't have tons of big ships like the NR or Vong, but as a practical matter they can't just have tiny ships either. They need a nice mix.

Description

Hutt Heavy Gunship "Fire Drake"

For escorting heavy fleets, the Drakootoo was the Hutt choice for heavy anti-fighter protection. Armed with 8 rapid anti-fighter laser turrets and 6 dual blaster turrets, this slow moving weapons platform was the plague of many rogue pirate raiders who chose to defy the Hutt Cartels. The main wing also featured 6 concussion missile launchers for long range attacks.

Special ability : missile barrage
