Thanks for the support, and I wish you the best with your HD conversion.

The team has shrunk significantly to 2 devs. Myself and Bunnysnot/Adam.

Inaith who was our former BF2 edition coder no longer has the time to develop.
He used a lot of python in the bf2 builds.

We are just aiming to get our plethora of existing art assets into the game and get it out there.

Its better just to concentrate on 1 version of the build. In addition there are a lot of features uniue to BF2142 we need for the mod such as walker support, active camoflage & etc.

To whom it may concern in the BF1918 dev team.

Do you have the DICE/EA tools to convert bf1942 .sm (standard mesh) files to 3dsmax format?

I'm asking as we want to recover models from our BF40K:BF1942 builds and convert them back to 3dsmax format so we can port them to BF2/2142.

We have Space Marine, Imperial Guard and Chaos Space Marine stuff we want to convert.

Nice model but Smart Missile Launchers are not on the Devilfish. They only appear on the Hammerhead a weapons option. The other option for the Hammerhead is dual Burst Cannon Turrets.
The Hammerhead, Devilfish and Skyray share the same body. The turret on top is interchangeable with Ion Cannon, Railgun, Twin linked Fusion Cannon, Twin Linked Long Barrelled Burst Cannon (Longer range and more powerful than the standard burst Cannon), Twin Linked Plasma Cannons, Larger Twin linked Smart Missile Pods

You need 3dsmax or Maya to make models for BF2/2142 (They use the same specification), for texturing you can get away with GNU Image Manipulation Program otherwise photoshop is recommended.

It would be difficult to revive for BF2. Gamespy no longer works for servers. BF2 is no longer sold on Steam, you would need a 2nd hand copy of the game. The mod tools are unsupported. The only team still going strong for bf2 is Project reality. They have managed to make their mod a standalone game and come up with an alternative to gamespy to keep the server browser working. I imagine they would have needed help from the former devs of BF2 to get that in place. A modder would need Prs help to start any new BF2 mod or revive an old one.

I have made a recent agreement with LadiefromHell to donate all BF40K assets over to the mod. Over 200 sound effects, 2 theme tunes, IG, Tau and Marine models.

I don't have time for modding these days. I donated the mod assets so they will not go to waste.
Just keep an eye on the Arma III 40k mod on steam and you should see bf40k sound effects, music and models appear there.

This is a dead mod. I transferred the mod assets to UT40k 6 years ago. I may be considering transferring the mod assets to a new mod for Arma 3.

I am happy for someone to try finish off the mod. I would want evidence of projects that have been completed before by potential devs coming forward. I would also want a clear plan of what they intend to do with the mod. Release dates, milestone projections the lot.
I no longer have contact almost all of the original developers. There are a lot of half finished models. Lots of bugs in the kit request system too which you would require a python coder to fix.
Would probably be better to focus on UT40k as UDK is a far more flexible gaming engine. The other thing is you are restricted to having the teams having the same size infantry model. Not a problem in UDK.

Its now under UT40K all development happens there now.

This mod could only ever reopen if a new army of devs came along with a clear, concise development plan and the will to finish it off. I would also have to contact the sound developers for the mod as they have to give permission for the mod to reopen.

Geo had a test.

The lasgun was a rapid fire weapon in BF40K it did not fire as fast as the hellgun however. The reload and recharge sound effects are missing i did not test the out of ammo sound.
The hellgun currently is not using its own sound effect.
Also add the multilaser effect to the chimera which should be rapid fire but lower rpm than the lasgun.
Add the lascannon effects to the Land Raider and Razorback.
To all those playing the mod I hope you enjoy what effects were made. This is the first time you will of heard them :).
