Its a proven fact that this can make any game more enjoyable and challanging

Hello Jlea.

I have viewed the video, and I have a question: Is Free-Aim a feature whereby you push a button to trigger it, and it stays that way until you push the button again to get out of Free-Aim? Or is it a built-in feature whereby it stays that way the whole game?

Thank you in advance for the answer!

JLea Dec 11 2010, 5:29am replied:

You can choose at the start of the game between free-aim or old style aiming.

With free-aim there's no accuracy penalty when firing from the hip due to the lack of centering. With the laser pointer attachment a crosshair appears.

With normal aim hip-fire accuracy is hard coded to be inaccurate. Laser pointer slightly improves the hip fire accuracy and adds a crosshair.

If you select "hardcore" mode, free-aim will always be on.

Will there be some kind of command that we can bind to a key so we can toggle the feature?

Duckhead666 Dec 17 2010, 11:33am replied:

I hope that hardcore mode will make bullets more deadly to both the player and NPCs, and exclude perks. I would try to have surgery so I could bear you children, if that were the case.

Nonsense Feb 21 2011, 8:59pm replied:

Why give me a crosshair instead of just a working laser sight? HUD elements in a game like this are a real immersion killer.

Reminds me of the ARMA games and teh first OFP game as well as the aforementioned games in teh description.
ONly it looks way more responsive and precise than ARMA's floaty aiming system (which I love! makes it even harder to precisely land an accurate shot at mid-long range more so whilst being shot at.)

Looks alot like arma, maybe if you could add an option that centers when aim or doesnt, will suit both likes. I Like it when its free when aimed aswell, like in arma, looks great anyway.

An HL1 mod did it too if we're counting Moddb.com

Technically it's nothing new, but it's rarely seen and nice to see done well in IS.

I think that the amount of free-aiming could be toned down, like in insurgency. Also, I'd recommend not centering it perfectly when ironsighting, but still allowing the slightest mobility across the screen.

Savci Dec 11 2010, 11:44am says:

1, Won't this disturb looking around and general movement?
2, If there is no accuracy decrease, why would you still use the ironsights?

Pressing T will toggle the weapon to holster, which means you get a movement speed increase and no aim delay

Savci Dec 11 2010, 1:11pm replied:

That wasn't the question, I'm afraid. Holstering increasing your movement speed is a must, of course.

Hey guys little advice: in aim mode the weapon should stay in the middle of the screen, then its free in aim mode it is a bit not comfortably, try it in Resistance And Liberation if you don't believe me it become a problem then 2 enemies on the side of the screen for example (you can see only one of them because of this system) and etc.

And i like the way you did a crosshair... GJ. I like that you thinking more about the player comfortably and less about realism of your game ) Keep in that way )

RNL/Insurgency style. Give us your thoughts. First thing on the todo list is to automatically center when you go into iron sights mode.
