Feminism Thread

Discuss anything about feminism here. Infact don't you think there should be more female leads in modded games?

Generally, violence-driven games interest women very little. If the industry was interested in creating truly moddable games for women (and they prefer more social ones, and these are highly customisable yet hardly moddable), there would be more of them around. That doesn't necessarily mean that some women/girls don't play such games. But I can count only one woman that I personally know to be playing games. All others either played 3-4 games in their life, and the said games were very niche or very specific, or not played at all because it isn't interesting to them at all.

A fine way of being sarcastic, or you simply fear that women would be MUCH better than men at everything - including modding. For example, Lexa from PPMsite, already deep in hardcore coding (hacking, etc.).

In all seriousness, my girlfriend isn't a big feminist. I mean she maintains a lady-like appeal and everything (+++!), but she also likes to shoot guns, play CoD, and have fun.

IMO, what "feminist activists" strive for would result in reversed discrimination, same thing happens with minorities and such when corporations have to meet a "quota" of a certain ethnic group. I'm not saying its bad that these people get hired over white males, its just that people who MAY be more qualified get cut out to meet government quotas.

In short: Feminism is like any other ideology, there is an acceptable range but outside of that range there are unacceptable extremes.

Protip: Feminism is an ideology that strives for equality between genders.

Reversing the equality gap is a misandrist agenda and has no real relation to feminism.

IE woman has the choice to abort a baby because it's their body & her choice but blame for the baby if she chooses to keep it is the man's responsibility. Feminism is the equivalent of double standards whites put on blacks in the 17-1900's but with men being the blacks & women being the whites. It's the double standard women put on other women if they don't choose to be feminist.

You know i'm all for it but certain things make me wonder, Like why when i see an all girl band they're usually pathetic. Or why there's very little female coders compared to males. I think people are built differently for different things, I doubt we'll ever see a woman come along and play guitar like rusty cooley can. (Youtube.com) Simply because we're built differently. Women have a bigger corpus callosum which means they can play piano better due to more right/left side of brain interaction. We're different and pretending we're the same is silly. Woman cannot do some things men can do and vice versa.

Also the insane reactionary feminist types kind of annoy me.

There are two types of discrimination, 1) singling out a group of people due to race or sex, or 2) not singling them out due to race or sex. If people notice problems with racism or sexism it is due to them being racist/sexist in the first place. If you treated everyone like normal people you wouldn't notice a problem.

By treating "different" people better instead of the same we are just making it worse.

AFAIK feminism is pure exaggeration because certain differences between genders are natural. Sure, bad treatment and all other things of that kind are sad, but we can't kick valid males out from organizations, parliaments and whatever just to preserve a 50:50 ratio. There are things women don't want to do.

Feminism is about polarizing mankind into two blocks, and only fighting for the human rights of one of these blocks.
It's an ideology that isn't needed imo - it's obsolete. Why do you need feminism when you have libertarianism? An ideology that teaches us that "individuals" - not collectives - should have the same rights as other individuals. There is no need for polarization.

Also, the whole "feminism" ideology feels like it has been totally adopted by leftists. And I don't like the left... (or conservatives (right) for that matter).

But what do I know? I'm not even a politician...

Feminism covers a very wide range of topics but it feels like sometimes people tend to focus on the extremes.

More female leads in modded games? Phfft, not if they aren't worthy of it! A woman shouldn't be picked simply for having a vagina as a brotha shouldn't be picked simply for the sake of having at least one "black guy" in the show. To put it simply, I shall say the following. If I allow a woman to live in my home, she'll have one of three choices. To take care of the household in a cooking and cleaning fashion and take care of whatever children may live there, bring in a certain amount of income, or let me have sex with her every other day. What kind of sex is up to her, but if it's oral it'll have to be daily (while I'm playing Halo, watching a film, or listening to music). Life's simple, there's no need to make it complicated.

People retorting to stupid pseudoscience & biological determinism/reduction garbage to justify how superior they are compare to the other has become a disturbing trend recently. This is the exact same tactic that white supremacists use against non-whites which one of them they claim how white's brains "are larger" than non-white brains for example.

How ironic that I find it is you who is being reactionary while "reactionary feminism" is a oxymoron since you apparently don't even know what feminism truly is despite the bourgeois media has fed you.

what is the point of this thread as surely after 100 years and countless equality drives we have pretty much gotten over the fact some women want to work and do other stuff than cook clean and babymake why is it an important issue on a site devoted to mods and gaming

Yes, how would you react to a situation if you was the one was allowed to live in a woman's home and what obligations do you recognize?

Something tells me that your of 'list of chores' wouldn't change at all since you are, of course, a being of higher order than any woman... (truth is you would like be a invader or occupier in that case).
