Unholy Wars is a modification for Diablo 2 - Lords of Destruction, version 1.11b. It's a rather simple mod - a bunch of small changes which together, add a totally new feel to the game. Not only you'll have a stronger character in less time, but the challenge itself will make the game much more enjoyable.

Please note that Diablo 2 Mods ARE NOT usable in Battle.NET. But you may use them playing via TCP/IP, and obviously, Single-player.

The mod had to be totally changed, as the first concept (255 levels) wasn't working on the game (because of items, magic affixes, monsters, etc), so I started it over again, almost from the beggining. Here's what has already been done so far:

So, is it all? No. There're a few things I have to tweak, and maybe, change the Runes totally (if possible). Still, this is so complicated to be balanced, that I almost gave up. I may end up doing it, but not right now.

Also, I'd like to change a few things that can only be done by editing the Diablo 2 DLLs, and I'm not really into Hex editing, so it's beyond me. By editing the DLLs, I could do the following:

Give 2 skill points per level
Make proper Gamble costs, allowing gamble of other item types (such as wands)
Increase amount of max gold in stash
Make a higher XP radius for party

That's what I would like to do, but is not possible. I've tried to get some help to do this, but got no answers, as most of the community is still using the 1.10 version.

That's it. The mod has been released, today, including this features... maybe a bit more to be listed that I can't remember, as this mod was done long ago... I should have released it before, really...

Anyway, here it is.
You cand download it as a setup file (.exe), which will prompt you to select your Diablo 2 folder. Or, a manual .ZIP file, where you should aim your Diablo 2 folder to extract as well.

*requires Diablo 2, Lord of Destruction and 1.11b patch*

It's highly recommended that you get the Setup file, as it's easier to install, and it's much smaller (thanks to the .7z compression).

About the future...
...it's somewhat obscure. I'm not really interested in Diablo 2 anymore, so I have no interest in continuing this mod... and, the Diablo 2 community is not really friendly, as I could figure out.

I may open a forum soon, so you'll be able to report bugs, and ask for balances, or even share your ideas, so I can include them in possible future releases. That's it, now, go kill some demons!

As stated on the description: "Unholy Wars is a modification for Diablo 2 - Lords of Destruction, version 1.11b." So yes, it requires LoD, and no, it won't work on any other patch. I may revive this project later, but I can't guarantee anything.

Is it possible to have this mod updated to v1.11 without too much work? I tried to run it and my screen went purple. :) It looks great and I want to try it but I would have to re-install. Not a huge deal just thought it might be time to upgrade versions anyway. Not asking for any additions or anything, just version upgrade.

The mod is fun, i've been playing. in the beginning, the monsters are tough, but the drops really help you out with the more uniques/rares, etc.

A question i had is, is there cube recipes? I couldn't get the three rings -> ammy recipe (one of my personal faves) or upgrade any runes? am i doing something wrong? is there a recipe list somewhere for the cube? thanks
