The mod had to be totally changed, as the first concept (255 levels) wasn't working on the game (because of items, magic affixes, monsters, etc), so I started it over again, almost from the beggining. Here's what has already been done so far:
CharStats.txt
Higher stats (totalizing a sum of 100 stats per char, instead of 80/85)
More HP (+60, instead of +30)
Slightly more stamina, less stamina drain
More mana regen (175 for Necro/Sor/Dru, 125 for the rest)
Higher To Hit Bonus for a few characters
Slower walk velocity (5, instead of 6), higher run velocity (varying from char to char)
More specialized the gains per level (Melee classes get more Life, less Mana, etc)
7 Stat points per level
Druid starts with a skill: Raven (on his Club)
Zon already starts with a Bow and arrows
All characters start with Cube, Tome of ID and Portal, and other equipment
Characters starts with full belt of potionsExperience.txt
Maximum level set to 110
Reduced the number of XP to next level by 3 (but the Xp gain has been divided by 3 as well)Skills.txt
Maximum Skill level set to 30
No skill tree (you may skip skills you wish)Inventory.txt
Expanded inventory/cube/stash
Belt size is always 4x4Cubemain.txt
Lots of Cube recipes (including easy ways to socket items)ItemRatio.txt
Much higher chances of getting better items (rare/sets/uniques)Misc.txt
Gems and Runes have been enhancedDifficultyLevels.txt
Difficult increased (higher resistance penalties, xp loss on death, etc)
Higher chance of getting better items on gambleNpc.txt
Changes on stores (prices have been halved, but you get less money from selling them)
Cheaper items on gableGamble.txt
More items added to gambleShrines.txt
Boosted a few shrinesLevels.txt
More monster (1.2x on Normal, 1.4x on Nightmare, 1.6x on Hell)
More uniques/championsWeapons.txt
Wooden weapons (Club, Spiked Club, etc) may have Druid SkillsArmor.txt
Paladin shields may have Paladin Skills
Belts/Gloves/Boots are allowed to have socketsAdvanced changes
Reduced the level of the items to match their required level, resulting in better dropsMonLvl.txt
Stronger monsters, following these formulas:
-Armor ClassNormal: (X + 2) * 1.2
Night: (X + 5) * 1.5
Hell: (X + 10) * 2.0-To Hit
Normal: (X + 2) * 1.2
Night: (X + 5) * 1.5
Hell: (X + 10) * 2.0-Hit Points
Normal: (X + 5) * 2.0
Night: (X + 25) * 3.0
Hell: (X + 250) * 4.0-Damage
Normal: (X + 2) * 1.2
Night: (X + 5) * 1.5
Hell: (X + 10) * 2.0-Experience
Normal: X * 1.5
Night: X * 2.0
Hell: X * 2.5
So, is it all? No. There're a few things I have to tweak, and maybe, change the Runes totally (if possible). Still, this is so complicated to be balanced, that I almost gave up. I may end up doing it, but not right now.
Also, I'd like to change a few things that can only be done by editing the Diablo 2 DLLs, and I'm not really into Hex editing, so it's beyond me. By editing the DLLs, I could do the following:
- Give 2 skill points per level
Make proper Gamble costs, allowing gamble of other item types (such as wands)
Increase amount of max gold in stash
Make a higher XP radius for party
That's what I would like to do, but is not possible. I've tried to get some help to do this, but got no answers, as most of the community is still using the 1.10 version.
That's it. The mod has been released, today, including this features... maybe a bit more to be listed that I can't remember, as this mod was done long ago... I should have released it before, really...
Anyway, here it is.
You cand download it as a setup file (.exe), which will prompt you to select your Diablo 2 folder. Or, a manual .ZIP file, where you should aim your Diablo 2 folder to extract as well.
*requires Diablo 2, Lord of Destruction and 1.11b patch*
It's highly recommended that you get the Setup file, as it's easier to install, and it's much smaller (thanks to the .7z compression).
About the future...
...it's somewhat obscure. I'm not really interested in Diablo 2 anymore, so I have no interest in continuing this mod... and, the Diablo 2 community is not really friendly, as I could figure out.
I may open a forum soon, so you'll be able to report bugs, and ask for balances, or even share your ideas, so I can include them in possible future releases. That's it, now, go kill some demons!
