Tiberium Dusk is a re-imagining of the Kane's Wrath universe in a way I feel better fits canon, as EA did a pretty poor job with the C&C franchise continuity from Tiberium Wars onwards. This mod doesn't change anything with regards to the story but helps add elements to the gameplay that "fill the gaps" and provide a more Tiberian Sun esque experience (including all its flaws and unbalances) and departs away from the Kane's Wrath RTS formula. Still a work in progress, I've made changes to the AI (buffed turtle AI and made brutals harder), made changes to "Militant Squads" which make them work with the timeline of the franchise, changed the "Nod" faction entirely with a new name, as Kane's Wrath "Nod" works more of a splinter faction rather than a true "Brotherhood"; with Marked of Kane being the new face of the faction. There are also numerous changes to GDI and Scrin, especially Reaper 17 and Steel Talons, which make them play significantly differently.
Omg, the texture looked better than I could've imagined. o.O
This is the (almost) finished Leopard 2a7 Medium Tank model. There's still some major things left to do like giving it working tracks, mapping them for textures and making the unique functionality that the tank will have... but as far as looks are concerned... its really hitting the sweet spot I think now.
Looks epic, what kinds of abilities do you plan on giving it? Different types of triggerable ammunition?
I've been planning on giving it a remote controlled coaxial roof light machinegun (possibly as an upgrade), and taking the Goliath Predator "ammo swapping system" away from the Goliath and giving it to the Leopard instead.
I want the ammo swap to be more strategic though, as the leopard will have a considerably longer reload than other ingame tanks (due to manual loaders and not assumed autoloaders ingame).
For example, the APFSDS shell can be a long range sniper type shell that hits vehicles for high damage from afar, with a long reload...
Or the HEAT for medium all-round damage vs buildings, tanks, infantry etc.
Possibly finally a "lobbed" HESH shell, which the barrel points upwards to shoot over long distances, though I'm not sure about this idea yet, but it'll be considerably slower than the other shells.
All of that sounds really good except for maybe the hesh lobbing? Ultimately its role is to be an mbt not an spg? I'd like it either way, I tend to like jack of all trades units.
Yeah, it was just a thought; I don't think I'll actually implement it tbh.
The Coaxial Machinegun however is fully implemented now. :)
