Tiberium Dusk is a re-imagining of the Kane's Wrath universe in a way I feel better fits canon, as EA did a pretty poor job with the C&C franchise continuity from Tiberium Wars onwards. This mod doesn't change anything with regards to the story but helps add elements to the gameplay that "fill the gaps" and provide a more Tiberian Sun esque experience (including all its flaws and unbalances) and departs away from the Kane's Wrath RTS formula. Still a work in progress, I've made changes to the AI (buffed turtle AI and made brutals harder), made changes to "Militant Squads" which make them work with the timeline of the franchise, changed the "Nod" faction entirely with a new name, as Kane's Wrath "Nod" works more of a splinter faction rather than a true "Brotherhood"; with Marked of Kane being the new face of the faction. There are also numerous changes to GDI and Scrin, especially Reaper 17 and Steel Talons, which make them play significantly differently.
To be shown soon! :)
Still alive and kicking I see ;)
Yeah. :D
I've had a not so fun past few months irl and not had the motivation to do anything much with the mod until lately, but on the flip side I'm fresh with a few new ideas which I suppose is a positive. :3
I've finally balanced Adaptive Armor into an ability that's really fun to use, I always found it a little lackluster in vanilla, but I wasn't fully satisfied with it being a passive ability either. :o
As Havoc would say in C$C renegade:
"Keep em Coming!!"~~~
Take care Burakkuhato!~
Awesome! And will do! :D
I really appreciate it, thanks. ^^
Glad to hear that as an unmotivated follower ahah.
Yeah the armor in vanilla left a lot to be desired, they didn't even made textures or coded every condition right which left some visual bugs too ;o
Yeah, I still have those issues. Mammoth tank treads still moving after activation etc. I'm really bad at focusing on quality of life improvements, I always focus like a sharp edge on the gameplay, which does often make what I do look a bit sloppy.
Still I am making small improvements on graphics and stuff as I'm going, so there's something I guess. xD
The treads were fixed for me when I've ordered and clean some of the mess EA left in the AnimationState scripts, it fixed for nearly all of the units for me aside from few exceptions which I need to figure out why it happens with them~
I tend to fix/improve what I can and try to make things look legit as if they were part of the game to begin with (Strange design aside xD) while also trying to keep at least some minimun balance, but it's hard to do all of these alone and I'm not sharp at anything anymore, espeically if I took a break for a while and come back I'm all like "Dam how we do this again?" xD.
And unfortunately most of the C&C3; elite modders or key community members aren't exactly the at the peak of their tolerance and tend to be too prideful for their own good, so asking the community some questions can result with some unneeded sarcastic remarks, good for you you not really active in these ahah xP
Yeah, I know that feeling. I've not even gone back to touch 3DSMax I've not done it for so long lol, i'd probably end up breaking something no doubt. ^^
My ideas and balancing is a bit "out there" to say the least, I always wonder what EA devs would think what the hell am I doing to their game. xD
And yeah, I'm definitely a quiet mouse all things considered; I just do it for my own personal fun (a bit selfish xP) and whatever I feel like at the time and don't really get a whole lot of feedback other than what people say on here. :o
Things I struggle with I just tend to turn a blind eye to or focus on it later, unless its really urgent. :D
I do hope some day I can release the absolute mess of source code somewhere though, its complete and utter chaos, but I imagine it could help some people. xD
Yeah I can relate to most of it alright xP
I do listen to people suggestions at the very least (it's was one of the main ideas behind my mod, at least to some degree xD) but I'm also do this free hobby mostly for my own sake, in a way it's like a game where you sometimes get sick of, leave, and then come back to play at after a while ahah.
Btw if you less of a max person, Blender now also have plugin for W3X, I'm mostly used to max though, but I wish I have a ver that could work with newer W3X plugins,
When I'm not using max in a while I also don't really want to touch old stuff I did same years ago cause god know what I could break if I mess with them again now lol, but I do keep some notes and guides somewhere to be on the safe side.
