Experience the campaigns from vanilla Dawn of War and Winter Assault with the new units, abilities and features in Soulstorm.

It was just a five minute trip to the Warp, honest!

Anyway, the most fancy new feature, is that the script can now check if a unit or structure exists, and use them in attack waves if they do, as well as restricting them and unlocking them at the appropriate level. What this means, is that you can combine this mod with other mods, and the units added in it, can be used both by and against you. Currently it works with Unification, and for the most part with DowPro. Ultimate Apocalypse does not work, unfortunately. Other mods might work if they use the same names for the unit files as one of these three, but I have not tested any more.

Every attack wave has been updated to include the system above. This is especially significant for Winter Assault, and fixes some rather lackluster attack waves in both the Order and Disorder campaigns as well. You actually have to defend the land raider carrying the titan crew now! Attack frequency increases with difficulty now, where previously it didn't affect Winter Assault at all.

Winter Assault in general has received some much needed love and polish, and should be a more enjoyable experience now.

The Tartarus campaign was already in a pretty good spot, but it too has received a fair few tweaks to make it a little bit better wherever possible.

Those of you who miss pre-expansion Dawn of War features like weapon customization for non-space marine units, being able to hit anything while moving and eldar not being blatantly overpowered, will appreciate the optional add-on, which restores all these elements.

For those of you asking for the Dark Crusade Campaign: it already exists. The "Dawn of War Strongholds" mod can be found here on moddb, and includes all missions from both Dark Crusade and Soulstorm. While it is marked at obsolete as of writing this, it is still playable; you just need to use an older version of Unification, which is still available. Unless it gets completely abandoned and is rendered unplayable, I see no reason to include those campaigns in this mod.

Since this is my first time trying to adjust difficulty, I would appreciate some feedback, particularly on whether normal (actually easy) is too hard or Insane too easy. I would also like to know if you prefer the way the enemy behaves in the Tartarus campaign, or in the Winter Assault campaigns.

I hope you enjoy it.

Oh, and a last minute discovery has lead to the restoration of the original Blood Ravens colour scheme. Golden Isador and green-eyed space marines are back!

I'm BACK! Where's da playin'?

Hello Spienold, I already tested your mod with the Unification 7.0, and works fine. The only problem I tried to resolve is enable the titans to the campaign, and the game crashes. Do you know how to fix this? Thanks for advance.

Thank you so much for this mod, but is there anyway to make it a little easier? I'm up to 'Sacrifice' and your base gets attacked by an avatar and a huge Eldar force like 10 mins in. I can barely scratch the Avatar with 5 squads while it is destroying everything.

Update: I replayed it a few times and 3rd time lucky the Avatar didn't attack me for about 30 mins. I'm not quite sure what triggers it or if I just got unlucky. I still think the difficulty could be toned down a little for the lowest difficulty. The Daemon Prince on the final mission was incredibly hard, you have to keep your commander near him but the prince kills him in 5/6 hits. I had to dance around him which felt a little ridiculous. Not sure whether to go ahead with the WA missions or play the original.

The avatar patrols around your base, but should not enter it unless you lure it in with your forces.
The force commander doesn't have to be in melee range to damage the daemon prince. He can be set to ranged stance and shoot at it while a dreadnought or landraider takes the hits.
As for difficulty, I can reduce or remove the escort that drops in for these two bosses, but the AI is already set to "easy" on the lowest difficulty, and I don't know what else to do with it. Did you have any problems with the other missions, or is it mostly the super units that cause grief?

Winter Assault doesn't use AI for the enemy, and the super units always come later in the missions there, so hopefully it will be less frustrating for you.

It's mostly the super units. I did try Winter assault but I had to give up on the second mission. I found that when I got to the HQ I was being attacked by Khorne berzerkers that my basic squads couldn't even scrape. For about 15 mins this one squad tore through all 4 squads (that were constantly reinforcing) along with every single squad I was training from the HQ. My commander was dying and respawning every 5 seconds or so and getting killed instantly. The first mission was manageable (thanks to the Eldar units in the second half of the mission being respawnable) but I still had to meatgrinder them because they were dying so much.
