Supply Lines is a Battefield 2 mod which focuses on teamplay and depth within the wartime genre. No longer will you magically find invisible supplies in which you can buy weapons from, Supply Lines aims to recreate wartime supply and demand by introducing a supply system into First-Person team shooters.

Story
In the not too distant future, the world has split into two World States. These two world states shared different views on the future of mankind. One state, The Federal Alliance (TFA) believed that the world should live the way it used to and that technological advancement was not required in order to be happy. The other state, the Technocratic Union (TCU) believed that mankind needed to develop its technological capabilities in order to survive the ever expanding human populace.

The two world states declared war on each other after numerous failed negotiations. The struggle for supplies and land in order to support their war effort drove the two states into direct fighting on numerous battlefields.

Who will win the war and declare control over the world? Theres only one way to find out...

How does it work?
Supply Lines will use a inovative supply system that introduces physical supplies into Battlefield 2. Whats all this mean? Basically, your team will have to collect supply boxes/crates in order to sustain their war effort. This will be achieved in two ways. Collecting raw supplies from supply dumps that are located around the map, or by capturing supplies from the enemy.

When you collect supplies from a supply dump, they are classified as raw supplies. Raw suppleis are not of any use on their own, but they are used to make other supply types. When taken to a Refiner, these raw supplies can be converted into other supplies. These supplies can come in three forms; Medical, Construction and Ammunition.

Medical supplies are used for healing purposes, and replenishing the supplies of the Medics on your team. If a medic runs out of healing equipment, they can stop at a nearby base and grab some medical supplies to replenish his stock.

Construction supplies are used by builders/engineers to construct bases and erect base and field defences. Construction supplies are simply taken to a building that is being constructed and dropped on it to add to it's supply pool. As a builder constructs this building, the supply pool drains. If it depletes before the building is finished, more supplies will be needed to build it.

Ammunition supplies are used by everyone on your team and by certain base defences. If a soldier runs out of ammo in the field, all they need to do is restock at a nearby base by picking up some supplies and adding them to his inventory. Some field weapons such as a field cannon require ammo supplies in order to continue to fire. If a cannon runs out of ammo, supplies will have to be brought to the cannon in order to reload it.

Beginning a Game
At the beginning of each game, your team's main priority will be to establish a main base of operations (a.k.a your teams "Home Base"). This will act as your supply distribution centre and will also be your enemies target, to detroy or capture you Home Base. The main parts of your base will have to be built up; The command building, the barracks and the radar dish. Once these are built up by the team's builder(s), your team will then be able to move forth and capture several smaller outposts in your team's side of the map. These bases too can be built up, but to a lesser extent. The base buildings available here range from supply depots (which provide a save place to store supplies, rather then transporting them all the way from a supply dump to your base), command tents (similar to a command center, but allow the outpost to call for support from the main base in the form of supplies or offensive tactics...i.e airstrikes, artillery support) and field hospitals (allow faster healing of team members).

When you choose to expand into the enemy's half of the battlefield, you can capture their bases. However, since you are in the enemy's territory, the bases you capture cannot act like full bases. Rather they are like rendezvous points for your team. They can be built a bit (i.e building ammo dumps and sandbag walls) but they remain largely underdeveloped. This also helps the enemy to strike back at the base and capture it relatively easily therefore giving them an advantage which they will most likely need, especially if a majority of their supplies when located at the base that was just captured.

A game is won when a team manages to reach the other team's base and destroy or capture it.

Team differences
The two teams will differ in technological capabilities. The TFA are lighter armoured and their weapons revolve around high fire rates and agile motion. The TCU believe in strength and have powerful weapons.

Well rather I'm back.
For those of you who don't know, I took a bit of time off for schooling reasons. Now I'm back and ready to rumble. It hasn't all been bad news though, Tacoo (our very talented concept artist) has been working on a Heavy Soldier concept for the Technocratic Union (TCU).

TCU Soldier concept

We also have a few weapon sketches in the works (one can be seen in the gallery).

We are currently looking for a Weapon Modeller and a Mapper. PM me if your interested.

Lot of work man! Are you really gonna do it? Rockstar seems to be more than enough work for a couple of years to me.
Since you only just learned using BF2's editor you might consider using the engine ArmA uses. I don't know if SDK and all will be available for it, but if so its the perfect match for your supply-line-theme.
At least as far as I get it!

Fun, good times, joy!
