Seriously, I love the sleek elegant designs of Starfleet starships, beauty shot. Thank you.

Like I said before, Enterprise B and C needed much more spotlight. I mean, they're freaking ENTERPRISES! Officially, their records may not be as fantastic as Enterprise NX-01, Original, A, D and E, but I'm sure they had good stories in there somewhere. *sigh*, I digress.

You aren't the only one feeling this way. It's terrible when a gap exist bc your mind conjures up so many different scenarios. Who knows, maybe they'll produce a series covering the Lost Era. We can hope.

Somewhat disappointing you didn't opt for Probert's original design instead.

Why would we? Probert's concept design never went beyond that - a concept. However you feel about it, this is the design that became the Enterprise-C, and the Ambassador-class in general. This was shown on screen. The concept wasn't.

Probert's design MAY appear in Infinities.

Description

"The Romulans will get a good fight. We'll make it one for the history books."
- Captain Rachel Garrett, preparing to take the Enterprise-C into battle

Launched in 2332 under the command of Captain Rachel Garrett, the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-C entered service during a troubled period in Federation history. The Khitomer Accords had not made immediate friends of the Klingon Empire and the Federation, and a resurgence of Klingon militarism through the 2320s brought tensions close to breaking point. With Klingon raids along the border becoming increasingly common, it seemed as though another war between the Empire and the Federation was inevitable.

The Enterprise-C was instrumental in keeping order along the Klingon border during this perilous time, maintaining the tenuous grip on peace in spite of great opposition. In 2336 the Enterprise was attacked by Klingon renegades carrying out attacks on Federation colonies and civilian ships along the border, resulting in a battle that left many crew members dead - a weight Captain Garrett would carry for the rest of her career.

In early 2344 the Enterprise was patrolling near the Klingon-Romulan border when it received a distress signal from the Klingon colony on Narendra III. Moving to offer aid, the Enterprise found the colony under attack by four Romulan warbirds. The Enterprise engaged the Romulans, fighting valiantly against the odds. A fierce exchange of torpedo fire suddenly blinded the Romulans' sensors with odd temporal readings, until the Enterprise re-emerged, fighting with renewed vigour and making the Romulans pay for every hit they landed on the ailing Federation starship. Overwhelmed, the Enterprise-C was finally destroyed.

The sacrifice of the Enterprise-C deeply impressed the Klingons, who value acts of courage far more than mere words on a treaty. This sacrifice was instrumental in finally cementing a lasting peace with the Empire, and songs are still sung of the valour of Captain Garrett and her crew.
