Fixing files and setup for first release of the mod...

Well my vacations just ended, and as I suspected Im totally annoyed by lack of willpower to do anything, but still I managed to make another batch of textures, sadly it barely just 10 new ones... Lack of progress in doing new textures is related to fixing files from my other addon "A pinch of Spices" that contain bunch of new effects for lights, anomalies and other small graphic and sound stuff. I decide to merge it to Stalker Two-K because its technically also HD remake for Stalker, maybe not in 2k resolution but still...

Second thing that Im preparing is setup instalator for mod. I decided to use it because I want to give users possibility to choose what they want, depending off what game they have. It will be really basic setup where you just select what you want with small preview for it. First version will support only CoP and CoC. Of course main textures pack should work with any mod based on CoP, but grass and APOS addon have some configuration files that will work for now only with standard CoP and CoC.

I think in next week I should be ready to release first version of mod. As I mentioned before, it will contain only 1023 new textures, and it will be more of a test to find bugs with bumpmaps and probably some changes in textures where I messed up stitching...

1023 totally new HD textures sound like a loot, but sadly its not even half of what Stalker have, but for first release it should be enough :]


It's great to see some progress (a big progress actually) and don't worry. Most of the people in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. community know how to wait so its not a problem. Plus, seeing that the demo will be maybe released in the next week is a huge step in making the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series shine with the new HD textures.

Well with that "shining" will be probably most problems, because I still mess with how shinny metal elements are, and I think most of people would still want them to reflect more light and be more bumpy, also I still sometimes see that some floor textures have those damn black shading if you look at them at specific angle so if it will be too annoying I will need to remake some of bumpmaps -_-

I liked the original versions of your mod a lot, so I'm sure that new versions will be even better. The shining was great, so I don't think it will need a big change. Maybe change a few textures to make it perfect, so hopefully it will not take time, if it will be needed to be changed in a first place.
