Help on setting the Resolution.
In version 2.9.0:

1. Changed the principle of determining the player profile folder and the save folder.
Correction is made during the installation of the game (Installer). In Windows 7 (probably also in Vista) - the operations connected with the personal folder of the player were not performed (the resolution of the monitor, the profile of the player through the settings program, etc.) was not written.
2. Added buttons:
a). [ Enabled «DirectPlay» ], calls the «Turn windows features on or off» panel. In the list of «Legacy Components», check the box next to «DirectPlay».
b). [ Download «DirectX Jun2010 Redist» ], a direct link to download the old version of DirectX, which must be installed if DirectPlay is not available for activation.
c). [ DxDiag ], calls the «DirectX Diagnostic Tool» panel.
d). [ DxDiag32.txt ] background diagnostics of DirectX, with all the results included in the file «DxDiag32.txt», which is saved in the root folder of the game. This file is necessary for analysis, if you can not solve the problem yourself.
e). [ Reinstall ], which duplicates paragraph 1 (manual fix mode). Required in case the game was «Auto-updated» or installed on the principle of copying, already unpacked files (not through the Installer).
f). [ Fixing-Up Help ], which runs the file (* .chm), with detailed instructions on how to fix the most common problems with the game.
j). [ Help ] (next to the «Resolution» button), which calls the instruction in the form of a picture, how to correctly adjust the resolution for the game.
3. Added new screen resolutions.
Permissions are not very common but still occur:

4. Correction of the balance of nations_CPU.
5. Correction some texture units.
6. Fixed a bug related to closing some processes in Windows 10, after the completion of Auto Update.
7. Fixed a bug with the lack of musical accompaniment on the maps «Stones bridges».

Thank you for this great mod! Can you maybe enable the map to be rotated. Then it would be perfect. That should be possible with the remastered version. But I prefer the original with your mod! Only the map rotation is missing...
Rotating the map is impossible, since it was not originally intended by the creators of the game...
I'm sorry, but unfortunately these are the realities...
I know this game since I was a kid and it was already fantastic, but just discovering this mod really enhanced it as I never expected to see, this work is just magnificent. I'm solely concerned by a minor thing: In the spanish version, the names of some units don't show properly or still in english. For example, in the Carthaginians, instead of "Cántabros" (Cantabrians in Spanish) as it should be, appears LTEXT_UNIDAD_CA_ILIGERA instead. I downloaded Pak Explorer to see if I could edit and fix it somehow but it says that the files can not be opened.
Besides, I genuinely loved the detail of calling chiefs their equivalent like the satraps, sparapets and else; and because of this I thought it would be nice to call Greek chief "Strategos" and perhaps "Alqayid" (commander) to the Rashidun's and despite the lack of carthaginians records, I've just found the name of Hasdrubal the Boetharch, this "Boetharch" meaning apparently general or commander among Carthaginians.

about stats/balance, I see there are several options in the "balance" box, is there any difference? Are the stats listed (from the links) only from the latest version(s)?

Thank you very much indeed for all the hard work you put on this mod. I just discovered it and it's like redescovering the game, it adds so much to the experience. Great job. Also those stats that you shared are pretty neat.
Now, how on earth do I beat elephants? Hahah they seem quite OP, but I sure think there is some unit with a bonus against them or something?

Can I use cheats while playing mods complex ? I need cheats to pass mission 3 it's really hard to beat and I want to know how to use cheats if possible
it's not a hard mission if you know what to do. there are youtube videos of mission walkthroughs you can watch to for ideas how to beat the campaign, even on hard.
Anyway, for mission 3, simply build archers and use cavalry to kill siege machines that attack gates. Use aux.inf. to repair the gates. Have leaders and healers close the wall to boost your troops damage and defense and heal. You can also build a few catapults inside the walls or moving towers for archers. Archers can shoot from within walls, especially cavalry archers, or garrison the moving towers with normal archers.
You can have an archer troop (defensive mode so they don't shoot randomly) in the forests near the wooden bridge, and burn it when enemies are not close, then use a centurion to lure enemies across the burning bridge to burn them lol
