Hexen II - Shadows of Chaos is a brand new mission pack for Hexen II. Featuring new enemies, revamped classes, a new plot, large maps, and revamped gore. It also features slightly more fleshed out RPG elements thanks to being based on the Game of Tomes mod.
What to expect
Environments based on the whole series. New and old enemies from past games make a return, more puzzles with proper hints, Portal of Praevus features. Explore a new land pulling inspiration from the previous games in the series.
Demo
The release is TBD but a demo version is nearly ready. Will feature 2 relatively large maps and roughly a half hour of gameplay. The demo maps are ready, the release just needs a few features polished before going live.

Can anyone make this work on mac please?
I guess I figured it out.

Hello,
Are there higher quality music files available for this?
Cheers.
For some reason when I try to play it, it just shows me a message saying that the video options are bad or stale
bloodshot12 Please fix your filenames. Your mod is without manual renaming some files incompatible with the Linux client.
Strings.txt -> strings.txt
Skeleton1.mdl -> skeleton1.mdl
IceWall.mdl -> icewall.mdl
Bishop_proj.mdl -> bishop_proj.mdl
TreeBig.mdl -> treebig.mdl
That would be very nice or at least do not call lowercase file names in your scripts :D
For the Linux folks you can get a bsp2 compatible glhexen2 build for linux from Hexenworld.org
You need to launch the game with +map demo1 and +playerclass 1 - 4 manually. eg: ./glhexen2 -game SoC +map demo1 +playerclass 3
Credits goes to curseofnight thank you!
Just so there's no confusion in case some random people on the interwebs read this, I just ducked twice and found the build, I didn't make it... but you're welcome. :p
Btw, you can also automate a lot things upon load by editing the autoexec.cfg in the SoC(or Hexen II, or any other mod's) folder, but most people who play these old games probably already know that(if not, look at the config.cfg for some valid commands...)
Also, to whom it may concern; don't forget to download the second hub(five maps) by Shadesmaster from here: Mediafire.com gameplay: Youtube.com Sidenote: I *think* this requires the build VortexAcherontic linked above judging by some of Shade's comments(???)
*UPDATE* - I deleted most of this post as it's irrelevant now and could cause confusion.
Just be sure to grab Whirledtsar's Shadows of Chaos Standalone mod (either version) for the second hub to work correctly: Moddb.com
Read the the description there for details about it.
(Shades sent me a pm about this awhile back)
Hello?????
How do you get these additonal maps to work?
When I overwrite the files in my SOC folder with the ones provided in the link nothing changes from the base game expansion.
I'm not great at installing mods. I need help. What I do to help me remember how to troubleshoot any errors I have, is to write down the help and file it under a large wordpad file of how to run all my mods without bugging the author again. Help?
I do the same thing.
Where are you running into trouble? I may be able to help if you're on Windows. I don't use mac or linux.
Also Yes I have windows 10
There can only be windows LOL. I just don't know where to put it or how to make the damn thing run. I'm better at GZdoom and other mods like Tiberium Wars mods, but this is new to me.
Alright, just unzip the files and drop them into your Hexen II folder. Double-click SoC.bat to run the mod.
Alternatly, you could create a shortcut to gluh2_bsp2.exe, place it on your desktop, right click on it, go to properties and add -game SoC to the target line and play it from there.
Good luck, it's a great mod.
Edit: since you're on Win 10, I would also set gluh2_bsp2.exe to run as admin regardless of whether you use the .bat or run from the .exe itself.
Thanks! It works!
