Do you think the map is fine as-is, or should the red exclamation mark (!) used to signify unscouted guard posts be removed?

If removed, guard posts would not appear on the map until the player scouts them for resources. This would simultaneously encourage proper scouting and make the game a little more challenging.

Please let me know in the comments below.

Loving this mod so far its honestly a must have but is there any way to remove malaria and the have infinite sprint? I mainly play this game just to **** around and kill enemies in creative ways and it would be nice having an option to turn it off but still enjoy all the benefits of this amazing mod.

Both of these values are in the player.xml file found in patch>generated>entitylibrarypatchoverride

I encourage you to unpack this mod and tweak them to your liking using the mod tools: Moddb.com

I'm not sure when I'll have time to revisit this mod and many any changes/alternate versions.

Wow! I haven't played much with your mod yet, but what I've seen so far is really mind blowing. Far Cry 2 Redux turns a technologically marvelous game with mediocre, and at times really bad gameplay into a... really good game. :^)

What's mind blowing though is the fact that it fixes everything (everything that can be fixed obviously) that *I* THOUGHT was wrong with FC2. Which proves that there is some objectivity when it comes to ranking/discussing/criticizing/comparing games and game mechanics.

I mean... Would you remove this annoying, immersion breaking glowing gun effect if it wasn't objectively bad? :D

Just joking.

But, really thanks for that! This fix alone makes this mod so much worth it.

P.S. Could you please explain how to change fov in FC2?

Glad you're liking the mod. Fov can be changed in a few different ways. This mod changes it internally via the "reference files" within the game. This is static change, and cannot be altered on the fly. It's simple to do - you just change the number value for each situation (default, cinematics, aiming, driving, etc.)

The other way to do it is via a memory hack. Much more complicated to setup and program, but it allows the player to change things on the fly while the game is still running.

Everything seems to be fine with this mod except for the shotguns. The spread seems to sucks massive ****. I've seen people shoot shotguns. I've seen the spread. The shotguns spread in this game seems to be nowhere near the accuracy in real life.

I missed two shots on one guy point blank with the spas 12. I found that the silent shotgun is more accurate than all the other shotguns somehow. I find the uzi does a way better job than the shotguns do. If you don't want to change it can you tell me how to mod the weapon stats then?

I like the shotguns. There fun to fire but there are better options. I hate a bad shotgun but when there is a good shotgun and I can't use it I get mad.

The double barrel shotgun is ******* awesome, I don't even have to aim down sight to use it.

You can play with the weapon spread for the specific guns there.

I added some pellets to the suppressed shotgun to bring it in line with the Ithaca, but aside from that I didn't alter any shotgun stuff from Vanilla.

That said, with the damage changes in this mod you should be able to take care of enemies a decent range.

Could you please release a version with player icon on map? It's too difficult using gps as it's zoomed in making the game frustrating and disorientating.

I really encourage you to stick with the Redux map system. It's designed to make the player become more familiar with the world. It should only take a few moments to orient yourself between the map landmarks and the GPS player location.

But, if you're sure, here is a version I assembled for another user that requested the default map: Drive.google.com
