Thoughts on 2.5?

Please share any/all thoughts on the most recent release of the mod. I'd also like to know your feelings on a few specific things:

1. How do you feel about the new animations? 2.5 introduced "safe" holds for most two handed weapons, and a different slide animation for one handed weapons. This was done for immersion and realism, but does it actually improve the mod?

2. What do you think about the new map icons? 2.5 changes the underground to a peace sign, and the objective markers to a X and O.

3. What are you thoughts on the new trimmed intro? The malaria attack is now triggered when the taxi driver slams on the brakes.

4. Any new bugs or crashes? Some users of non-English GOG versions have reported crashes. You?

Love the new version of this mod, the new map is a bit challenging to use but at least now there is an actual use for the gps, and it certainly makes navigating around the world a bit more interesting. The safe hold animations are a nice feature as well, although with some two handed weapons your character is holding the weapon a bit too high for my tastes, not sure if there is anything anyone can do about this though, the one hand animations on the other hand are really nice.

The new FAL has also become perhaps my favorite weapon in the game, the wooden furniture is real nice, and my only gripe with it is that it has maybe a bit too little recoil, and the desert eagle firing sound is a bit annoying, it makes it hard to distinguish whether you're being shot at by a wounded guy, a sniper with a deagle or a guy with a FAL as they both sound the same.

The two handed holds are definitely too high, but I was never able to figure out a way to change it. If I could import new sounds into the game the FAL would be perfect.

Do you think it would be better with the default sound, even if it's only meant for full auto?

I agree about the sounds, I think the defult sounds would be a better fit. Everything else is just great. Awesome mod.

I really wish i could get back the vanilla map but still use t his mod, i saw that another person wanted that and u sent him a link, but it doesnt work anymore.

Is there any specific spot to target for injuring enemies cause when I shoot at their legs with a sniper rifle, they just take it like a champ and move into cover.

I tried shooting them in the chest and shoulder which was an instant kill, the only time I ever injured someone with the sniper rifle was when the guy raised his arm and I shot him right in the armpit causing him to fall down and scream in pain while his buddies tried to pick him up.

Anywhere but the head can trigger it. It's random. Redux keeps sniper damage at vanilla values so you can still wound people from a distance.

I just upped the physics impact so they would feel a bit more powerful.

Wanted to ask this too actually, but are the bullet tracers random in this game cause I was in the middle of a battle in the night and was pleasantly surprised to see a tracer coming from one of my shots just hit the ground and rebound into the sky.

awesome mod. i have a couple suggestions. when i go to save at a safe house, it makes me spend at least 12 hours to do so. the standard you can save after 2 or 3 minutes. also, i miss my quick save. and one more, if it's possible to not to debrief post mission, that would be great. standard is you have to travel a few hundred yards and return to gain a new mission.

It sounds like you may have a bug or are playing a different mod. Redux doesn't change anything about the save system. You can sleep for as little as an hour and quick saves are still there.

Unfortunately, the travel distance to refresh missions is an engine issue and cannot be fixed.

Hi, is the game locked at 59 fps now with this mod?
If so how can I get rid of the cap?
Playing at 3440x1440 @120hz with 118fps cap (my intention like with all other older games).
And also I'd like to know if it's ok to add the mod Far Cry 2 New Dunia (+ Beyond Ultra Graphics) over this one.

1. No, it shouldn't be.

2. I don't recommend playing with a higher FPS cap than 75. The engine wasn't meant to run as high as 118 and critical bugs will occur.

3. Far Cry 2 mods must be unpacked and then manually combined and repacked. I'm not sure what all is changed in New Dunia, but in theory yes you can combine them.
