Discover one of the most beautiful but also most hostile environments in the world, Africa. You are sent to this war-torn region to assassinate the Jackal, a mysterious arms dealer who has rekindled conflict between local warlords, jeopardizing thousands of lives.

"Where's my boy?"

Just like the former "Apocalypse Now" Update, these brave mamas(/girls) are here to fight for their land and for their loved ones, from the evil hands of warlords and soldiers of fortunes, they are friendly to the player, and will react to any danger or conflict that is around them. But don't expect them to help you, remember, you, are an OUTSIDER.


The Intel

These are some useful information to recognize an "Underground Movement" Fighter:

Sex: Female

Race: Black/Indigenous

Outfits: Dress or Tees with Short with local/cultural patterns, most of them don't wears shoes.

Equipment: Second-Grade rifles and handguns, sometimes there are saw-off shotguns or rusty M79 grenade launchers.

Vehicles: Jeep Rover with a mounted M249 machine gun.

Behavior: Mostly patrolling by Jeeps, but sometime on their bare foot, most of the time they come with two people, sometimes three people as a team.

Reaction to Player: Friendly, but their untrained grenade toss may hurt the player, player's bullet won't hurt them, only player's explosive, fire(eg. Molotov), crush impact and machete stealth kill could hurt them.

I Work Alone

Now the player can join the fight with them, but MAKE NO MISTAKE, they don't have the responsibility to take care of the player, they only fight for their people, they will surely glad to have any help in a combat, but remember, you are here for one mission and one mission only--- hunt down the Jackal. You are not for them, and so are they.

Golden AK-47 ought never to deteriorate, that is my opinion. But it should count as a special weapon, in return.

Anyway, just learned there is a paraglider in this game, just how cool is that?

Other thing, thought of a "rusty" challenge - use only looted weapons in the game, never guns bought from the vendor, even though you do have the right to upgrade guns and other equipment of use - in most simple terms, do not visit the armory, ever. This also prohibits you to "refuel" ammo in the armory or use any utilities present there, adding extra spice to the challenge. Only weapons of quality you can use are the pistols handed to you by your buddies in rescues - which is the regular Makarov, I suppose. Other than that, your machete, plus you can use the vehicle-mounted and the stationary heavy guns. Theoretically, the golden Kalashnikov, does not break the rule of a challenge, especially that it does deteriorate eventually, as it is present.

I am also quite wowed that grenade launcher is a secondary weapon, but yeah, that does make sense.

Important Suggestion to all FC2 MODDERS
Just some ideas to Give this Game a Second Life (Unlimited/Endless/Realistic Survival Freeplay Features):

SURVIVAL

MAIN CHARACTER NEED TO DRINK WATER (!) AND EAT FOOD to survive (after some game time passed). Add effect from pills from malaria to water and food.

- The effects occurs depending on how long the character runs in sprint mode without using transport.
- A character can carry 2 or 3 points of water or food with him so as not to lose consciousness during the game.
- Food can be looted (you will take 1 food point) if you kill the animals you can also buy food for diamonds from a merchant.
- Water can be found at mercenary outposts, but cannot be bought from a merchant like food.

GUNS

The weapons that you buy from the merchant do not remain in the arsenal “forever”, but are used once and eventually wear out, but they are better and break less often than the ones you pick from the mercenaries.

- The weapons you buy from the merchant are used once (if it breaks or you change it to another), but if you have enough diamonds you can buy several units of guns at once (and use them later).

- If you have not used some kind of weapon for a long time, but bought skills on it, then after some time - they disappear and you need to re-buy them again from the dealer.

DIAMONDS

To compensate the features I described, it is NECESSARY to make the diamonds respawn again after a certain period of time, so you can loot them again (FOREVER) and buy a new weapons/skills or food from a merchant.

- You can endlessly complete missions from mercenary leaders or merchantsand have much more diamonds than in cases.

- Each time you take a mission from a merchant or from mercenary leaders - you get a random mission from those that were in the original game and you can perform them endlessly.

LIVING WORLD

- The game will spawn a random number of mercenaries at a long distance and in a random direction from the main character (This feature should "populate" empty locations in the game world).

If to be peculiar about it, vehicles would need to refuel and could run out of fuel eventually, while the fuel should refill in the same manner as your Molotovs and other 'gasoline' based weapons. For example, if you have collected a fresh gasoline supply, the first vehicle you get into afterwards, will recharge fuel to a maximum amount. Not pretty balanced, is it, to imagine carrying around all those gallons of liquid, while being prickly at the same time about one more grenade at the belt, needing an upgrade to carry? Vehicles differ upon fuel consumption, depending on their speed and mass. Mass of a vehicle, should project upon the gunfire cover that it provides to the driver. Samewise, you speak of water, but what about the shade? Walking in full sunlight ought to exhaust the protagonist a lot more than walking at night, sunrise, sundown or in a forest. If to be ridiculous, walking under full sunlight without 'recharging' in any sort of 'legitimate' shadow could result in the character passout, samewise like with the malaria thing, to a degree, but this, ought to affect not only the protagonist, but other characters as well. If to think about it, how would you distinguish 'legitimate' shadow? You would have to introduce a "petrol station" philosophy, where entering a location does this or that to the equipment. But to speak for real, I mean, is it worth it? Is 'Far Cry 2' not designed in a way that it is supposed to be, which is, punishing but not borderline ridiculous about it?

EDIT:

Furthermore, what about the resting? Should the game force you to rest with blurry vision and stuff? But then, can you rest wherever or only in the safe houses, perhaps in "resting petrol stations", which are areas generally marked as safe, but again, what does "safe" mean?

These are some neat ideas! I originally wanted to include a number of them with redux:

- incorporate water/thirst, and tie it to stamina

- buy "crates" of weapons. 5 diamonds buys a crate of AKs

- more non-respawning enemy groups and conflicts

Unfortunately, none of this is possible without a proper development kit. Sounds like some great ideas for an indie successor to FC2, though...
