The newest, and hopefully final release is split into three separate versions: Steam, GOG, and "other". The Steam version contains the updated modded patch.dat/fat and the multifixer. The GOG version also includes a modified Dunia.dll that IS STILL NEEDED. The "other" version should be used if you have a retail or Uplay release, and neither the steam or GOG release works for you. It contains an extra .exe, which you should copy to your bin folder AFTER YOU BACKUP your original.
The multifixer seems to give an error if you run the game from the desktop, so if that's happening, try moving the installed game to a more traditional location.
If you are getting a crash on boot, remove the documents/mygames/farcry2 folder and try again. The previous Redux may have created a gamerprofile.xml file that is no longer compatible.
