You ever considered handing the project off to someone else to finish? If nothing else, have people just pitch ideas for the expanded levels. Pretty much just throw **** at a wall and see what sticks.

Would a map-edit athletic buttslap be enough to motivate you too? (that was fun to say outloud)

I believe it was after the v20c or v21 announcement that SMIV said something along the lines of "This is probably gonna be the last major release of BD and I don't have any solid plans after that." I don't recall anything beyond that but correct me if I'm wrong.

I ran into a problem playing mocHC using Crispy Doom. In Ultimate Doom e1m4, the gate at the start of the map doesn't lower no matter what switch I press. Normally, the right-hand switch on both sides will lower the gate, but in this case I could not interact with the switch at all. The left switch was working fine. I was still able to jump over it and continue, but I doubt that'll be the only time that sorta **** will happen. Everything worked normally when tested in Zandronum.

I use Crispy Doom because I don't have to mess with settings to make it look and run like vanilla Doom out of the box.

Short answer: No

Long answer: This is pretty much a remix map pack for Ultimate Doom and Doom 2, much like Extermination Day is for Brutal Doom. The maps are (much) larger and the monster placements and counts are adjusted to match. This is not a conversion mod, so it does not tweak any game settings or mechanics i.e. Nightmare is the only difficulty setting with respawning monsters.

Before the fix, the "chaos" part of Maps of Chaos was a bit of an understatement.

I just encountered a bug in the middle of a session where the stop-time function decided to stop working out of nowhere. Slow-time still works, but stop-time now functions like normal flow on just this one save file and every game I save from then on out. However, it still works on older saves and new games, including the autosave from the beginning of the level I was on.

I using Weapon Wheel v1.31 and Project Brutality.

Also sending a message now that I read the top of the description.

Fearrific was a really cool idea just from looking at it (**** yeah Quake!) and even better, I got everything to work (mostly). I'm positive the mod can be improved even more, so I refuse to go any further than the first level of Hell on Earth until I see improvement! Most of my gripes are with the implementation of the UDV addon...

1) I don't like the way the visor was redone. The viewport feels narrower and the status bars (health, ammo, etc.) are awkwardly taped onto the new visor.

2) The tv static effect when taking damage is annoying as hell. It is way too blinding and distracting when in the middle of intense combat.

3) (I'm using ZDL btw) After unloading Fearrific's modified HUD and loading in UDV straight from it's moddb page and getting script errors in the launcher, I tried using no external HUD addon. However, certain weapons (DMR for example) were matched up with the wrong ammo type (pistol) and the stock HUD was rendered useless. I loaded Fearrific's HUD back in, but this time the tv static wouldn't disappear unless I went to fullscreen HUD (no visor skin). But still, the DMR was matched with the wrong ammo type again.

One last thing I was unsure about/didn't like was the two hardest difficulties (both with optional Quake monsters) having UDV Hardcore Realism settings forced enabled, resulting in the most annoying aiming mechanic ever to be conceived of in a video game, as well as the critical bleeding stuff. Before I tried this mod, I was playing through HoE with vanilla Project Brutality on Last Man on Earth which I would say was a perfect challenge for me. If you could add a difficulty that encompasses all of the added challenges of the higher difficulties and then some without the UDV realsim (or enlighten me on something I overlooked) then I will be a much happier camper...

...that's ********, real men don't "camp" in an arena shooter!

I ran into that same problem when trying to apply the fix (ended up just redownloading PB altogether cuz I ****** something up...I think). I think idfreak is right where you have to drag n' drop STGRENADELAUNCH.TXT out of the .pk3 then move it back in instead of copying it.

There is a fix for it that I have confirmed works, though it took me a bit to figure out how to do the fix properly.

Basically, you to extract a file from the Project Brutallity pk3 file called "STGRENADELAUNCH.txt", delete a few lines, and stuff it back into the pk3.

I don't remember how I went about doing it since I apparently can't follow directions for ****, so I'll make it easy and see if I can link you to the modified text file in my dropbox. Use a program like 7z or something to put it in Project Brutality 2.03.pk3. Just replace the existing file and save.

The fix will and has gotten rid of the bug and I see no reason why it won't for you!

Has anyone attempted/completed MoC on Brutal Doom: Project Brutality ---> Death Wish ---> Last Man on Earth difficulty settings? I made it to E1M3 so far.

The dark maze in E1M2 was a tad bit difficult to enter because of this damned demon tech trooper who would keep popping out of a random corner and one-shotting me at the entrance to the maze (I had ~5HP at the time).

Anyways, very fun to play because of the challenge it brings. Keep working at it!

I'm also getting the 50 errors while parsing the DECORATE scripts error. I just installed gzdoom 2.0.0.1 and trying to load the first DOOM's IWAD. Not loading with anything else, just the Project Brutality .pk3
