This lesson from Noesis Interactive will show you how to begin creating custom props in the Softimage/XSI 6 Mod Tool. Learn the basics of modeling, texturing, and rendering while creating your own time-bomb prop. After following this tutorial you will know how to make your very own video game assets.
You will need to get the Free Softimage/XSI 6 MOD Tool and Noesis Database to follow this tutorial.
This tutorial is included with the Mod Tool and will give you the option to view it when you open the program. You can also watch the video online at 3dtutorials.com
I though I would never find it, thanks for the upload :)
Sorry for this very stupid question, but where I need to click to download this tutorial?
The "Noesis Database" link in the post.
made me confused, too. :P
I don't see any tutorial in the archive... a few image files, and some exp files. but no video files
Yeah, sorry about that guys. My brain was having technical difficulties, ha ha. I added a link to the video on 3dtutorials.com and the video is also included with the Mod Tool download. Sorry for the confusion and I hope this tutorial is useful to you!
Thanks.
Very good tutorial :)
I'm working through the "Noesis Quick Start: Mod Tool Overview" video but I don't have the Animate menu on my version (downloaded XSI Mod Tool from official site yesterday, 21st Feb with the other necessary files for Crysis editing). Any thoughts?
Dunno if your still looking for the answer to this question but right click on the spot where animation tab should be at the top and it should allow you to add it.
I had to same issue
umm with this program can u make models such like a any thing model u make and put it in a hl2 games and such because i want to make lots of props for gmod and a game mod i want to help with?
This and the second video is a must, i am a complete "noob" to the modelling scene but had a copy of Half Life 2 and was eager to make something of my own and see it in a game.
The entire process is explained clearly and coherantly, from start to finish and now i have my very own (yet slightly poor) timebomb in Half Life 2.
I can't thank you guys enough for the excellent tutorial.
Ive almost compleated this tut its verry good by the way but i have a prob when aplying the final texture(the one thats 1 image)and it ends up blury and no detail is visible can anybody help
