This tutorial will cover, from pre to post production, the entire process involved in creating an Evolution of a Map video to demonstrate progress made over time. My evolution videos have proven invaluable to me, allowing me to showcase my level design process, but also forcing me to be extremely critical of my own work.
Let me know if you use this technique to promote your own mods - I'd love to see what you guys come up with.
Good.
I get the urge to do this now. Really neat tricks you're using, especially that beep.
How big is a 3 minute video? On Fraps, it would be from 1-3 GB, depending on the things that were recorded.
Can't say for sure, depends on resolution, audio, format, so on. FRAPS outputs raw footage, so after proper compression, probably only a few hundred MB.
Really interesting and thanks for that video. Very informative stuff.
Great! Too bad that generic streaming videos sucks too much MBs from my internet stick... :\ But I should be able to watch it somewhere else (probably at my friends houses).
Anyway, good job, Archie! I personally appreciate all the work you put in your projects. Stay awesome. ;)
*drools*
Great tutorial - I might just have to start doing this myself.
Yeah I love this kind of stuff.
Buen video
I would recommend OBS for recording, its free and compared to Fraps I get a lot better performance even on weaker pcs
I started HL1 maping, but I can't figure out how to make an Apache patrol, or how to make him move at all.I am using "HammerEditor 3.5.2"
Any advice would help since there arent any tutorials I could find that are about entity bihaveor.
p.s: I used a few "info_node_air" on the map and it doesnt really help
Info_node_air is for flying aliens I believe, such as the controllers. Apaches use path_corner entities, like trains.
Thanks!
