I really only play the indie games... I don't own too many games to play most of the mods!
I love the indie projects anyways.
Indie games can be the most interesting and inventive of any of the games but sometimes its troublesome to hear about them.
Not every free indie game is good but some are, I prefer both free and pay.
I play some free some paid.
I love indie games.
A mixture of free and paid, whatever strikes my eye or generates internet buzz. World of Goo, Dyson, the Introversion games, Geometry Wars, Audiosurf, Celestial Impact, etc.

I like to try out 'inide' indie games but i have a mixture of ones i've brought (mostly via steam) and some free ones like Warsow etc.
Indies are awesome! I'm just sad the reworked version of Cave Story only exists on Wiiware...

A game that is not made by a massive studio, usually one or two people. I.e. world of goo
I prefer open source games over AAA games, well... I am a linux user afterall lol, but only play so much, wish there was a better market for open source games -sigh- as for these indie games, if its touted to be popular, id give it a try, if i like the demo id buy it if it was easily available
I dont play inidie games... I play indie games... its diferent...
I play too many games in general but have really loved the strong indie push that has been happening lately. Many times its where the truly different or risky ideas/concepts are tried first :)

I only play those i buy. Well, with the exception of a virtual copy of Audiosurf, which i happened to win in a contest.
I personally love the indie experience so far the little time i have been doing it. I usually play a lot of free indie games but the way indie games are going i am really tempted to buy some of these new titles such as overgrowth
although, to be honest, I only play the ones that fit my laptop :P
and I don't exactly adquire them... legally :P A legacy of the region I live...
Missing an option: Indie games ( either free or paid ) which are good and don't do PR-Whoring like AAA titles or some others here on ModDB ;)

I play all the ones that I can. Stuff like Iron Grip, Audiosurf, Warsow, Savage.......A lot of other free ones as well. Games like All Aspect Warfare give indie devs a bad name though.
Yes, Overgrowth is definitely shaping up well. First played the Lugaru demo like two years ago and loved it. Black Shades is my laptop buddy. :D
Overgrowth is really looking fantastic, between that and Natural Selection 2 Indie games are growing on me fast :)

It's a mix of free and paid, I generally play the games where there are the most players and where there's room for competition. I generally don't play games only for the fun of it, like singleplayer games I finish it once or twice and that's that, if there are leagues for a particular games or it has fun competitive gameplay I'll stick with it.
I play both free and priced indie games, and if the free game s good enough i always like to give donations to the creators so theres more chance of sequels/other games coming out.
