People who know what they are doing, and some people who really want to help.
I prefer friends that know what they're doing. lol.
yeah, thats my entire group of 16 people. lol
I love when anyone joins a group you feel like... "YAH!". I'm in a modding group "WOOT". :D
Friends who know what they're doing are really the best you can ask for if you want to enjoy the time you spend making your mod.
people who know what they are doing,
but also are they or have become friends.
a good work atmosphere is also VERY importent.

Who needs to know what he/she is doing, as long as someone knows everything will be okay.
Who ever wants to help!
If he can Help ;)!
I think it's important that team mates have the same or similar beliefs, or are at least open and respectful enough to share views with one another.
Knowing what buttons to click is one thing, but knowing what makes a good game is something else.
Friends and like minded.
I treat modding as a hobby to do for fun and learning, people that know what they're doing aren't necessarily needed.
But most friends I have know what they're doing anyway.
<3
People on my team are friends, like minded and know what they are doing.
can someone help me make frontier? moddb.com/games/frontier
Help is always great, but really need to keep it to those who know what they're doing.
that's true, but if everyone had kept that way of thinking I would have never entered in the modding world. I started as a complete newbie who barely new how to mod, and because I was accepted into a mod and started to learn (still am) everything there was to know about that game, I became almost 2ª in command and senior coder on that project.
So, it's important to also keep a lookout for potential and welcome into your team everyone that wants to help and, more importantly, wants to learn. Nobody's born with modding (any area) knowledge.
but yes, those type of people are rare. Most of time the modding team is a reduced ammount of people that know what they're doing.
Good point.
Friends who are liked minded is great, but I also find that it's a fruitless endeavour unless they know what they're doing. Progress with the best, it can sometimes make you push yourself further!
People in a team better know what they are doing, or else they wont be in a "team" anymore.
I like people who know what they are doing! xP
I'm trying to be friendly with people who help me. What's the point of working with ppl who hate you? Otherwise, when ppl become friends their production will be way better.
What, no option for us one man groups?
You never know who you're going to pick up, so everyone can join our team. We've picked up our head programmer through ModDB, and many other great members.
Assuming you know what you are doing, the choice should be clear...
Sometimes, it is good to lean back and think "well, I have that area of knowledge in my team".
used to be a mix match, but since I have always been very insistent on keeping style and detail level consistent, I now only work with people I trust to do a good job.
Anyone that wants to help, even the noobs which may annoy you, we must remember that we have all been once or sucked in our lives, and there is always that one person who was nice and let you on their team, enabling you to become good and experienced.
Besides, it's not a big deal if you loose a game, as long as the team did their best and at least tried, and above all nice people, good team spirit ect. no bad behavior. No loosing on purpose or ruining other experience. That's what matters, so I don't care if you got the game just today and don't no anything, have fun and TRY!
My friends, only those who know what they are doing
People who you can work with without becoming annoyed and frustrated: Friends who know what they're doing.
Cloud Sourcing. It's a beautiful and dangerous new word... I may make a news post.
I thought it was "crowd sourcing"
although I don't actually have a team, if I did it would be a mix of the top two...
My team is just me.
People who wanted to help out, we let them join because they know what they're doing and we end up becoming friends.
I'm not convinced like-mindedness is so important as the others; mod development thrives on lively discussion which in turn thrives on differing views.
The only person in my team is me, and half the time I don't know what I'm doing.
Friends who are Like-Minded AND that they know what to do! I'm at multimedia college and my programmer knows how to code C++ and is at a Computer Programming college!
I'd say like minded people who know what they're doing.
I think the most important thing is that nobody thinks they can stand above the team or the project. I had a guy in the team I had to fire simply because he thought he was so great - he kept pulling all others down.
Talent is no excuse for being an *******. And if you have somebody on the team, who doesn't respond and doesn't come to meetings, he's probably less of a help then the devoted guy, who tries hard but still has a lot to learn.
