(755 votes)Large—I play a lot of games. (150+)
(1407 votes)Decent—I've accumulated quite a few games over the years. (50+)
(1691 votes)Small-ish—I'm happy with just a few titles; rely on mods and free indies mostly. (less than 50)
Well look at that! 25%, 25%, 25%, 25%!
Sure the poll just got started but I can expect an interesting result out of this. XD
Yeah, it's been a while since we had a new poll.... poor poll box was feeling neglected.
Oh no, not the poor poll box!
Agreed. If you can keep these more regulary new ones, I know it may be hard to come up with ideas, But i like to see what people think
How can you expect an interesting result? It's obvious that the 250+ is going to have the least amount of votes and the <50 is going to have the most...
Ive got about 100 + games ranging from 1994 to 2009.
I'm only including games I currently have (question: should digital ones count because, technically, you don't own anything that contains the game & with something like steam valve can remove your lease, but if a company rejected my Cd key, I still OWN a physical copy).
Most of mine were destroyed last year, so now I've got ~10. Before that I had to have easily 250+ (never tossed one out, from Battle Chess in '86 to FEAR)
Of course digital copies count, digital property is the future! With all the pollution and attempts to save our planet going on, virtual publishing will become more and more common. Does that mean that in the future we won't own any game? Of course not, it only means we don't have physical copies, but we do own it nonetheless.
A collection is the sum of all your owned content related to a certain theme. So your games collection includes every game you own regardless of condition.
Since all games are licensed, not sold, do we really own any of our games? :p
We live only for at most a century as humans, do we really own our home or the body we use now?
then I need to change my vote to 250+. I've got thousands of games on Cd's I've burned over the years (0% pirated!), all for PC. If I'm not counting digital, then last december I had 250+ physical copies from the publiser/dev/store.
The definition of "game" just got a whole lot wider then. I may not own the actual CD's any more, but "once upon a time" when you could backup a whole directory to a CD & the game would still work, I did that. Or you could install & not actually NEED to install it again, I backed that up.
I currently have 84 on my c:\games folder, that doesn't even count games that I just installed to c:\temp to test & see if I wanted to play them.
OK, people, WTF. Why the hell are we having a metaphysical discussion in response to a mod poll for pity's sake!
We are having a metaphysical discussion to prove that gamers and game developers alike have some of the most fascinating minds on the universe, the birthplace of so many wonderful mods and games that have come a long way to change the way we look at the entertainment industry and shape the face of our children's worl.....Yeah I don't know either. But it's still cool. XD
Metaphysical discussions are cool. Period.
I have Battle Chess still!
Lulz, I only really have 15 games installed, 2 of which I play regularly.
How is less than 50 games small-ish?
I give some games away to younger guys from work and family. I'd say I have less than thirty games lying around, or in boxes. Probably ten or so, I'd kill for (once again).
I got loads of games ranging from early 90s - just not on the PC. Loads of console games - and a large handful ofPC games, I dont see how less than 50 is smallish though; I don't personally know anyone with that many titles.
I love PC games and in my 8 years of gaming i got less than 50 games. how could any one have more games (250+!!)
(buried)
Are there even 250 games in the whole world? :O

.....
HAHAHHAHAHHAHAH! XD LOL...... ......yes there are....
No, such a foolish question. Voted 100+, not sure if thats accurate or not :)
decent. look, like I have a good few games that i love comin back to so what is the point of buyin so much? besides, i dnt play a lot.
I also find it hard to believe that someone has 250+ games...
50 games over here. I share the collection with my two brothers.
About time to get a new poll :D
I have around 25 games (most of which are shared with my brother) but I don't consider it a small collection. I don't have any time to play at the moment anyway...
I said less than 50, but that's not true if you count all the old Amiga and C64 games I have lying around. But I guess they wouldn't count as "PC" games, even though they were for Personal Computers.
i've easily got more than 200 (I'm not saying that that they're all good cuz some of them suck)
I have about 70 PC games collected in two or so years. Although I would consider more like this:
1-25 Smallish
26-40 Decent
41-60 Large
61-90 Impressive
91+ Huge
I completely agree with this comment. The proportions for this poll are quite over done.
o.O I'm trying to imagine what a stack of 50 games would look like on my shelf, nm on my hard drive.
I have 50+ games easily, ranging back from 1996 onwards. Good old red alert 1/warcraft 2/delta force/twisted metal *sighs nostalgically.*
Im waiting for someone to barge in saying
"Im the lead editor at PC Gamer magazine and I get all the left over games that the publishers send our way, so technically, I have over 2000 games, bad and good, in my collection."
OWNDH
i have 50-

this needs a 25- 50 bracket, for greater resolution.
Woah... Who the hell owns that many games?! I'm sorry for being a noob, but I don't own Two hundred and fifty games.
i have about 50, the majority of which being on steam
You should have posted links to our Backloggery pages.

If we're counting ROMS, including NES, SNES, Sega, Gameboy, Mame, and PSP games... probably 20,000+. I don't play any of them. I only play BF2142 demo. Over and over and over again. Cause it rocks! At least my heavily modded demo server does.
if u got 250+ games then u might want to try and see if you can look away from your PC... 0_o
If it havent been for the consoles existence, everyone had voted number 1.
Those with 250+ games are nuts.
well, that would be me being nuts as i think i have more than 250+ games on PC. I don't really know how to describe it but I have like maybe 4 cabinets worth of games? I travel quite frequently and I will buy games that I see are cheaper and worth buying whilst I am overseas. Well, last year, I was in Britain and I bought like 20+games in one go. If you go to China, their original games(EA, Ubisoft) are like 69-75 yuan while classics like farcry retail at 15 yuan. While you have to work with an installation in chinese, most games retailed have English content. They work, so I almost bring a luggage full back everytime. When my parents tried to build storage cabinets and we were moving them they were like "look at the money we would have saved and how many games have you got?" I am sorry for buying so much but I just can't get enough of PC gaming. Oh, I don't do any mmo though, no WOW or anything like that. Mostly, I play SP but recently with a faster broadband and a higher end PC, I am starting to buy multiplayer shooters like TF2, L4D and BF2142 as well...
Fifty games is already bloody huge.
Over 250?
Where would they find the shelf space?!
Thanks to Ikea, the storage solution, it is possible to pack that many games into 1 house. I should start giving games to my younger cousins soon. Actually, when you think about most games, I have them in those dvd casings(at least that's how they are published here), then with most EA published games and the like, those with dvd roms or multiple discs will have casings the size of 2 DVD casings. If you arrange them all neatly, you can put a lot of games in one cabinet(finding one for replay would be a bummer though). I do have the few oddsized ones like max payne 2 or those that come in a huge A4 sized box? most of the games distributed in China are like that and some crazy game distributors do that also.they don't think about saving trees when they put just envelopes(for discs) and a manual into one of those oversized boxes that take up a lot of shelfspace.
i prefer few but good. I don't play superficially.
Not being in a place that has video game rentals or used-games stores,my alternative is to buy on the cheap be it through online shopping or scouring on store shelves.I do own a few poor quality games, but what i have in my cabinet sounds like a game's magazine's list of top games(sorry if i sound like i am boasting).I do own most of the games that pc gamer mag has in 'the big game hunt' feature. Granted, with that kind of library, it would take a lot for me to replay some games and I am guilty of not completing all the games in my cabinet too:( I should stop buying on impulse.Pardon me, but what does it mean to play superficially?
Lets see...
Warcraft 1,2 and 3, Diablo 1 and 2 (all with all expansions), Max Payne, Neverwinter Nights (with many modules and all packs and expansions), Baldur's Gate 2 with ToB, Undyind, Alice (my favourite), and other with i don't remember.. =p
