HOW TO INSTALL
- Download the Installer
- Unzip both of the files in AotR_Version_5.0.rar (if you can't open the file, download Winrar or 7zip)
- Run installer.exe (if it doesn't work, please run it as Administrator)
- The installer creates a shortcut to Age of the Ring 5.0 on your desktop
PLAYING ONLINE
For using T3A:Online, nothing has changed - just make sure RotWK is hooked from the T3A:Online Launcher.
For using Gameranger, the process has been simplified:
- Open Gameranger
- Go to Edit > Options...
- Find and select Rise of the Witch-king
- Under Location, select Browse
- Browse to your Age of the Ring 5.0 installation folder and select lotrbfme2ep1.exe, then click Open.
To play normal RotWK, reverse this process by selecting lotrbfme2ep1 from RotWK's installation folder.
********** PLEASE READ BELOW **********
- This is a full version. You don't need to have previous mod versions installed.
- AotR 5.0 does NOT yet support 2.02 v8.2.0. To play Age of the Ring, either don't update to the latest 2.02 version or use the 2.02 launcher to set your Rise of the Witch-king to v8.0.1.
- To uninstall Age of the Ring 5.0, simply delete the Age of the Ring 5.0 folder and shortcut.

7zip extracts, but the installer disappears.
Your antivirus software has quarantined the installer.exe, you will need to remove it from quarantine.

Amazing Update like always. I really like Dol Guldur, the siege maps and the updated bfme2 campaigns as well as your campaigns and missions of course. It is just so nice to see some guys putting some effort back into RTS-singleplayer-campaigns and missions. One question, do you guys plan on implementing the scripted missions from bfme 1 campaign somehow? Is this even possible? I'd go nuts playing these og missions with AoTR! And what about a modified version of the original Angmar-campaign? Any thoughts on this already?
It's certainly possible to add the scripted BFME1 missions. However, the Good Campaign missions are rendered redundant by our own LotR Campaign. There's potential for the Evil Campaign but our lead scripter is busy with the Two Towers campaign right now.
I really love your LotR Campaign, especially Howls on the Redhorn, A Journey in the Dark, The Wood of Lothlórien, and Breaking of the Fellowship.
I can't wait for the Two Towers Campaign to be out.
Do you know where I can found the script to add the Gundabad Warriors, Archers and Spearmen? Because I would like to add them to my Misty Mountain faction in A0R 5.0
Quick question. Will it be possible to play with custom heroes with the new fractions?
Also, are there plans to create new custom heroes? Love that in local play.
Yes, once you choose your faction, open the custom hero drop menu and press the first letter of your heroes name.

Please help, my game crashed right before the skirmish started and it did't give me an error. The skirmish games worked while i had the last update of the mod
Clear your skirmish.ini file that is in the same folder as options.ini. :)
I did a complete fresh reinstall (both the games with all patches etc) but when i try to start it, it just Displays the Startup Logo and disappears. No crash or error message or anything. It's like it justs exits on itself. Would you by chance have any Ideas as to why that happens?

Already did that, it's still the same. I'll uninstall and reinstall everything once more and just hope it works now.
I reinstalled everything (with patches, following the instructions given) and i still have the same problem of it closing without an error before even starting.
Did you put in the Options.ini?
Yep, i even redownloaded it and replaced it.
so you have a clean install of the bfme2 set to patch 1.06, rowtk to patch 2.02v8.0.1, the game are either from revora forums or from your own cd disk?
I have this same problem and I have the both games patched as they should be and the game is from revora forums

When I try to launch the installer I get " Failed to execute script installer"
If the installer is not working, you can always instal manually by extracting the aotr folder from the aotr zip file, then placing the folder in C: or wtv folder you want, but if you put it in C: when making your shortcut make sure this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king\lotrbfme2ep1.exe" -mod "C:\aotr"
is in the Target field.

Dol Guldur, the buidings, the voices, the dialogs. It is what most surprised me.

The Two Towers campaign is a continuation of the Fellowship of the Ring campaign currently in the mod. It's currently in development by our lead scripter.

Hi all! I'm having an issue getting the Rivendell faction to work properly. No Grey Company or Lay of Leithian. Also don't know how to get the Veterans of the Last Alliance. I'm playing as Rivendell in War of the Ring mode. Any help here? Thanks in advance.
is there campaig from movie 2 and 3?
