it is the angle of the view that might be confusing people. We are happy with the design, and finally a Star Destroyer looks like the true terrifying monster it is supposed to be. Fractal first introduced the idea of realistic sized turrets. We adopted his approach, and expanded it to include ventral weapons and some minor weapons.
Our turbolaser tower is accurately sized to the fighters, and the towers provide the height needed to maximize full firing effect without hitting weapons that may be in front of it.
In short... a star destroyer is a really big ship.... and a turbolaser tower is still very small in comparison...

beautiful,looking at this I guess it just looks connected oddly, I'm sure once you roll out the mod and the ship is in game it'll look fine though.
That´s what a ship always looks like without textures and in the viewport of 3ds max.
Dont worry once it´s textured and ingame (+shadow mesh) it looks perfectly fine!

Towers still looks weird. In theory. they might hit the hull of the ship if fighters get close.
And more immersively, if somebody sneak aboard and take control of any of the front turbolasers, they might just destroy the bridge. And yes, im overthinking it. :D

Who needs an A-wing to lose control and hit the bridge? :P
Fire control computers probably have safety protocols to not fire on the bridge, possibly even have the turrets physically incapable of aiming at the bridge... That's how I'd design it myself... don't want an over zealous gunner trying to tag an A-Wing and hitting the bridge instead >=P
And I thought I overdid the turrets on my ISDs. Rigging that will be fun for sure.
Coding it will be no less "fun".
That's the price you pay, I guess.

This just goes to show how the original Star Destroyer was a very impractical machine. I know you've done your best to make her look practical as possible with realistic sized weaponry. But having towers like that is just a target for strike craft at least 40 of her weapons are on towers. What I would of done.. if I was in your Star Wars universe that is. Is find a way to keep all her guns as protected as possible by armour. Though that would just lead to a Pellaeon-like class starship.
But very well done.
