TIE/tl (turbolaser): TIE-Annihilator image - Yuuzhan Vong at War mod for Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption

The TIE Annihiltor (TIE/tl) was byproduct of the Imperial Remnant's decommissioning and fleet reduction agenda. With the dismantling of so many large capital ships to have a more diversified and mobile fleet, there were many left over weapons systems that just could fit onto all of the smaller capital ships. The TIE/tl was born from this, allowing heavily armored and shielded TIE to fly with the speed of a TIE/ln fighter yet carry 4 medium turbolasers to tear through hulls of enemy capital ships. TIE/tl squadrons were rare, and when seen flying flew in squadrons of 6 fighters.

6 fighters / squadron :
6 x 4 : 24 medium turbolasers, flying at an incredibly fast speed, shielded, and hungry for capital ship hull...
... and Conner Nets can render a large capital ship, star destroy sized, completely immobile and frozen, unable to fire any weapons back until their systems reboot...
just something to think about... pray the Hutts don't make an alliance with the Imperial Remnant before the New Republic does.......
When i first saw this, the absolute first word that came to mind was "Mobile weapons platform of death"

I just can't help but find this stupid to be honest, if you can fit the payload of a capital ship in a 6 fighter squadron why bother with the big ones? And at the same time if you can put that much firepower into a tiny starfighter wouldn't it make sense that a 1.6 Km ship would have at least a hundred times more firepower?
Sorry for the rant, I dont mean to criticize you guys, you are amazing.

While interesting, it just seemed to frail of a craft for the Vong Era. I then found this concept render,

and decided to merge the 2 ideas with the fact that the Empire was dismantling all of its Star Destroyers. It is a fanon design, not present in any of the novels, but we do have a history of trying to incorporate some fanon designs that are widely desired or especially unique, into the mod for a bit of enexpected freshness and fun's sake.
The idea with the Annihilator is that it would be an ultra-rare unit, just like the TIE-Heavy Bomber and TIE-Torpedo Bomber, only seen being deployed from a few hero Imperial ships (inquisitor, bellator, guardian SSD).
If it is not liked by the majority of our fans, we will consider removing it, or adjusting it. 4 medium turbos and shields might be too much for a single fighter... We could make the weapons ion cannons if people like that concept more.

I WANT IT! Can we have it as a free release at the very least? It is too awesome to throw away. Besides, Star Wars is WW2 in space and there were several Allied designs put together at the end of the war for bombers to have tank guns mounted on them just in case the Soviets misbehaved. So having a fighter armed with an absurdly powerful weapon makes sense. Youtu.be
O.O Not sure how practical it was against armor (75mm cannons sucked in Tank warfare...) but ... WOW... learn something new everyday.
Well, while strange, Star Wars has much more strange stuff (*cough Suncrusher *cough) so at least by me its fine as its probably a High risk weapon either way as fighters arent as resistant
As long it has small drawbacks to make it not too OP but still something worth building, I'm all for this awesome fighters.
Listen, lmao, the suncrusher was so ******* MLG that it didn't deserve to be in this universe xD. It going in that black hole was the best decision ever.
While I question whether a fighter could legitimately handle that much firepower strapped onto it I am also a firm believer in the rule of cool, and a TIE fighter with 4 turbolasers strapped on is pretty damn cool so I think it passes.
Those Vong will think twice when thinking of messing with the Empire
