The Xenoforce Reborn mod takes the classic Xenoforce mod from CNC Generals and re-invisions it on the CNC3 engine with new units and new designs. The new armies that are currently scheduled to be in the mod are the Earth Federation, ZEON, the Invid, and the Earth Robotech Defense Force. We also have heavily modified the original CNC3 armies, giving the GDI, NOD, and Scrin a much more dynamic gameplay experience. This mod is NOT FOR PROFIT and NON-commercial based.

I'm hoping by artillery, for a "space ship", you're talking about orbital bombardment of some sort. The rail guns would serve that purpose well for direct line of sight. Otherwise Cruise missile styled weapons would be realistic for traversing terrain towards its intended target. I just can't see Juggernaut barrels hanging off a "space ship"... but then again if it's designed to be artillery from orbit to ground, then I guess GDI can decide to get messy and saturate an area with kinetic ordinance. Either way, great description & thoughts azuza. :)

Is this a buildable unit? If so, then it can come in from the sky and land by the Airfield just like the Hammerhead Gunship did in Kane's Wrath.

I was thinking of making them fire the "Orbital Bombardment" shells that GDI gets as a power actually. Unfortunately the model doesn't have any spots for missiles. Like I said it isn't my model so I don't have access to much modification (I believe it was ripped from CNC4 and then imported into CNC3's W3X format).

This deserves a post on the blog about my thoughts on both this ship and CNC4 in general I think. It brings up a few very sad points with where the series ended up.

And Val at the moment it is a build-able unit. I'm thinking of making it a build-able unit (with a very long build timer) from the Space Port or making it a deployment power from the Space Port.

I'm going to go write something up for the Blog on this.

Actually, if you look closely, it does appear to have several vertical-launch missile sites - for example, next to the command tower. You could use those if you wanted.

TBH, there is enough support powers as it is, I like the long build timer from Space Command idea better. It will be similar to Scrin's Fleet Beacon building Mother Ships.

As a support power I can limit it's overall usage, as a mass produced item it becomes a bit too easy to get earlier in the game than is intended. We'll try a few different ways and see how it turns out.

Yea I know it does but those doors don't open and there isn't a "weapon launch bone" there. I am going to work on making those work actually. It shouldn't be too hard in this instance.

Posted up my thoughts on xenoforce.blogspot.com if anyone is interested. Salamander next then Scrin. Should have a RC by next week for everyone to try.

Well it'll be a great addition to the game none the less, looking forward to trying out the RC. :D

Looking back at your objections (e.g., that the Kodiak was designed to counter Scrin ships), my hunch in that regard is that the version seen in C&C4 is a ground attack variant that serves roughly the same role as the AC-130 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_AC-130). In that vein, there would probably be a space intercept variant that replaces the turrets and their ammo with ammo for the missile tubes.

Again, just a hunch.

It's a possibility. It just seems like they designed the units around a specific role but they then decided to use these units in a completely different way. I mean look at the unit then look at how low they make it fly in CNC4.

Description

So I need to start by saying this is NOT my model, this was sent to me awhile ago. I believe it actually belonged to someone else who made it available for others? If anyone has any problems with this model being used like I said I will be more than willing to give credit to the owner and / or talk about us being able to use it. Otherwise I'm going to leave it in.

Anywho just wanted to post a pic of the unit in the game. It's a great unit. After the last balancing act was done between GDI and NOD it was determined that they NEEDED a bit more power. For GDI it will be the Kodiak, a space ship designed for Combat. Though not as fast as the NOD Salamander it is more heavily armed and armored.

Weapon wise it's technically supposed to come equipped with 9 24" cannons and 3 anti-air vulcans but I'm not sure if we will keep it this way. I mean, this thing is supposed to be THE GDI spaceship, it's a battle ship designed for space and atmospheric combat. I have a hard time believing GDI would invest so much money in designing this thing only to cripple it with kinetic only weapons. The front 6 cannons may be changed to artillery cannons like the Juggernaught uses and the back 3 switched to Rail Cannons. This would make it a very capable unit, able to lay down artillery fire from a distance as well as deal a massive amount of direct damage against anything that wants to get close. And the vulcans as a backup against fast moving air units, well, you get the idea.

Now the only real question is how is it going to be deployed......
