The Xenoforce Reborn mod takes the classic Xenoforce mod from CNC Generals and re-invisions it on the CNC3 engine with new units and new designs. The new armies that are currently scheduled to be in the mod are the Earth Federation, ZEON, the Invid, and the Earth Robotech Defense Force. We also have heavily modified the original CNC3 armies, giving the GDI, NOD, and Scrin a much more dynamic gameplay experience. This mod is NOT FOR PROFIT and NON-commercial based.
I'll try to keep this short. NOD's latest in wide range defensive technology is a side effect of their teleportation technology that they use to bring the Sword and Shield onto the field. This phenomenon is called a Time Distortion Field. Any enemy units caught under this "bubble" of slowed time will move and fire 25% slower than they normally do.
NOD has 2 ways to bring this effect onto the field. They can do it through small Disruption Towers that will blanket a given area, slowing any enemy units that pass through it. Or they can build a Temple of NOD, a structure that must build up a massive amount of energy so that it can activate the Sword and Shield Teleportation System that the "Time Bubble" just naturally occurs much like the Orguss Effect does. Unlike the Disruption Towers though this is a MUCH larger effect, big enough to cover an entire NOD base and then some.
Of course you can only be effected by the Time Bubble if your under it. This means there are ways around it. With GDI the way to bypass the Ion Cannon Defensive Line is to either use air units or to attack a base from 2 different directions at once. The system simply can't target that many different armies at once. With NOD it's even simpler. It can't affect a unit thats not under the bubble. This means that GDI for example could move spotters in and use Juggernaughts to pound the structure from a distance taking it out first. Or you could get your hands on an EMP Center and just "turn the structure off" for a little bit so you can get closer to finish it off.
Comments are welcomed.
Oh and if you can't tell units that are affected by the time effect are turned a yellow tint to make it easier to tell that they are slowed.
This is getting better by the second mate!
One thing... I think the shield should be a little bit higher? It looks like the particle cannon which is oval shaped.
Just a thought
I think that the point of keeping the shield low to the ground is to keep it from capturing air units.
Quadhelix has it right for right now. At the moment we're testing it as a low level distortion that only effects ground units. We're also going to test it as a type of "Wall" of light/energy that covers both ground and air units, and then go with the one that works best.
