This is my first mod that I am in the process of starting. I'm not in a hurry to do it because I know it may take a long time, so even it's beta won't be released anytime soon. However, I will try my best to make the mod worth the wait considering that a lot of models are going to be custom made by me. SO, having said all of that, now for the breakdown of my mod: Every mod should have some kind of unique feature set apart from all the other ones. As a result, not only am I making this mod as close to the lore as possible, but also, this is a first for Dawn of War as a whole. Over 80 percent of the units will not be squads since the Custodes are usually individual warriors. However, there are rare occasions where Custodes must fight in groups. Uncommon situations but they take place during the Horus Heresy. The mod will have a unique system of units. The Adeptus Custodes units are very powerful, yet come in small numbers. The aim of this mod is quality over quantity. So welcome to 30K.
In regards to further plans with the mod, I have decided upon a few changes. The Adeptus Custodes are very much so better at fighting individually. During the Heresy ages, the Custodes would mainly operate as agents for the Emperor, taking on special missions more suited to a few or even a single Custodian to handle, whereas it would take a whole army or even an entire Legion of Astartes to complete. They also partake in what is called the "Blood Games", or even infiltrate noble houses searching for treason and intelligence gathering on the powers that be abroad, and conduct other clandestine missions.
But going by the layout, balance and legitimacy of Dawn of War, there will have to be a change somewhere. I have decided to make a research in my blueprints called "Squad Reinforce Add On" from the headquarters building. This will allow for the Custodes to reinforce by adding one, but ONLY one extra/additional squad member so that they could fight in pairs. Of course, when it comes to reinforcing them, it will cost as much as getting the unit itself since they will all start out as just one single, individual unit. This research will be a costly and lengthy one to get, but worthwhile, especially if the economy is looking well enough to use it frequently for the Custodes units. This also provides the added benefit of not losing your Custodes units as easy. You lose one without this research, that's the end of that unit. Lost. But with this research add on, if one is slipping in combat, you can retreat or hold off the enemy since reinforcing them wont take long and they'll be durable enough to wait out the storm. Custodes have no morale and can still fight effectively, even while on the ropes. Just to add, once you have two Custodes in one 'squad', you can attach a commander unit to them and make sort of a command squad in a way, making them extra powerful.
Now, going by the comments, I have also decided to use the quotes I made for the Sisters of Silence to be used for a mark called "Sisters of Silence Initiates", which is proceeded from "The Silent Sisterhood" main mark. The Sisters of Silence that will be the literally 'silent' ones will be under the mark called, "Pledge of Silence SoS", which is also proceeded from the main mark called "The Silent Sisterhood" from HQ.
As for the Legiones Astartes main mark, I will make a proceeding marks for them also. Their marks will be Legions. For example, during the Horus Heresy outbreak, at least half of the Legions had fell to the Ruinous Powers, therefore leaving around ten or so Loyalist Legions. A paradigm for the marks is like this: XIII. Ultramarines Legion, I. Dark Angels Legion, V. White Scars Legion, IX. Blood Angels Legion, VI. Space Wolves Legion, XIX. Raven Guard Legion, VII. Imperial Fists Legion, XVIII. Salamanders Legion, etc. There will also be a Loyalist Primarch for every Loyalist Legion that can be summoned to the battlefield.
As for the Emperor of Mankind himself, he might take more balancing than any other unit in the Adeptus Custodes army faction. He will have enough strength to take out any relic unit in close quarters in Vanilla. After proper thought, I'd put his health (HP) somewhere at around 30000 and damage at melee at around 540-660. Ranged damage will be 622-760. He will cost about 1500 Requisition and 1000 Power. For the Ultimate Apocalypse Mod (hopefully), it will be a dramatic difference going by the balance of that mod in particular. As a God Commander Relic Unit by their standards, his HP will start out as 113625 without any hero research. His melee damage will be 8888-9999. Ranged damage will be 4650-7500. He will cost over 100000 Requisition and 40000 Power. As OP as that sounds, the hero/commander units in that mod are like super heroes once their hero research is all complete. But even at this level, the Emperor will need proper testing. But after it's all said and done, the Emperor of Mankind will be the most powerful commander in any Dawn of War mod out there.
