The Sons of Baal, The Blood Angels, were the IX Legion of the original Space Marine Legions under their Primarch Sanguinius. They are particularly well known for their bloodthirsty nature in battle.

The gene-seed of the Blood Angels (and its successors) is still capable of producing all nineteen organ implants that facilitate the transformation of a normal man into a Space Marine. It also has the unique quirk of vastly extending the lifespan of the Space Marines of the gene-line, and it is not unknown for a Blood Angel to live more than a millennium. The gene-line, however, is also affected by a dreadful flaw, which makes its brethren susceptible to the Black Rage and the Red Thirst.

The Red Thirst causes warriors to suffer an unusual bloodlust, instilling them with a thirst for the blood of their enemies.The Red Thirst is so overwhelming that the Blood Angels forget their noble heritage and completely lose control over themselves. It is not unheard of that Blood Angels squads abandon advantageous positions to engage the enemy in hand-to-hand combat. More often than not, these assaults turn out to be so devastating that unprepared enemy forces are simply swept away.

When a Space Marine is overcome by the Black Rage he is reborn in a world of anger, hatred, fury and nothing else. As well as Sanguinius’s memories, the Blood Angel is touched with a small portion of his unearthly power, boosting his strength and vitality to superhuman levels.
Rather than face a slow, insane death, Blood Angels will form those who have newly succumbed to the Black Rage into a special unit known as the Death Company. They paint their armour black, daubed with red crosses, signifying the wounds of Sanguinius, and are usually led by the few Chapter officers, notably Chaplains, who are able to communicate orders to these lost warriors. They are then sent out to perform the most dangerous assaults, hoping for a quick and honourable death in combat.

This mod was first announced back on the 11th November 2004 - and it's fair to say that any mod that spans this period of time has hit difficulties and this mod has fallen inactive at least twice, if not more. The old team are gone, but Team Thudmeizer got permission to continue, however our OE assistance had a crippling HDD failure and so there are clear graphical issues (Morah, Death company, other units missing animations and forcing their utility.)

This Mod has two branching tech trees featuring the Might and Wings of Sanguinius along with the famous Heroes of the 3rd Company and a twist on the familiar SM playstyle - your units are very powerful in melee, but also bezerk so use caution!

Not a bug anyone else has had! Unless you have not unpacked the locale folder right, it may be an unsupported language? Have you combined it with anything else?

Hey bro, i gotta say this. You did an abso-f****-amazing job with this. I made a long term pause with DoW and i reinstaled this few days ago to try out one of my fav chapters. I have to say i am completely amazed at what you've done. All congratulations for doing this mod in the way you did. A few of you guys doing these mods are making this game better and alive beyond all limits. Keep up the good work and best of luck O:)

I have been waiting for BA mod for more than 10 years, and now that it came out I was not disappointed. It is another free masterpiece for the DoW community to enjoy. I don't know what kind of complaint was expressed but I know that creating something like the Blood Angels mod takes many years of development, insane amounts of time and effort, and complete dedication from the modders. When some random guy complains about it they are just annoying and should think twice before posting.

This mod team has produced miracles and has expanded the game way beyond the wildest dreams of the DoW community. And all modders are committed and dedicated to their work as well as they have real lives to handle.

I have one thing to say to all who complain about free masterpieces:
Offer a better piece of work or be silent.

Blood Angels mod is fantastic!

Open(though admittedly rude,haughty and conceited)criticism of voice acting.
Now I understand.I stand corrected.
Hell, we even made Chapter-master Thudo,the Canadian guy, angry.
Given that it is an early beta, unit voices are still un-processed, amazing voice acting quality of every other mod from Thudmeizer mod team; this was probably unexpected.
Which still doesnt excuse my or brother toporu's behavior.
5 or yet another 10 years waiting for proper voices, if that is what it takes,
is fully acceptable for me.
But now, my own opinion still stands that they would be better off mute
or with original SM voices.
I would like to say sorry for my unbattle-brotherly behavior,
so we can cut to the chase and close the case.
TT is tabletop, right?

May the will of the Emperor account in all balance.
Let Sanguinor watch over you.

There is no point ever using vanilla voices as everyone is sick and tired of them after 10+ years. Like I said and maintain, the voices currently are not final yet. You never go back: you go forward. I wholeheartedly and ABSOLUTELY without reservation believe we continue on with the NEW content because it would be a bloody waste of time not too considering the immense time of scripting each character and the logistics of getting them coordinated. As I said: they are not done yet - they require some tweaks but ONLY some of them as not all VAs are equal (obviously but its up to you if with want to spend $75-hundreds of dollars for each character to be super-pro voiced. Good luck there.

Never ever will I get tired of baddass deep voices of any marine,especially Paul Dobsons Gabriel Angelos and Eliphas, with my favorite Apothecary(Gordian,Galan), Chaplain and Grey Knights.and Exterminatus dude.and Martellus.and Cyrus.and Avitus.and Diomedes.and Araghast.and Thule the Venerated Dreadnaught.and almost all others, even some of the scottish flashlight guys xD

To me, it seems that If you don't like the voice acting, it seems unlikely a bit of reverb will win you over!

Oh Well, I will occasionally visit to see if the voices ever got done. Maybe someone will make a patch to put in the old voices!
