Did you remove some of the back surfaces of the Grey Knight terminator to cut down on surfaces? Also under the terminators feet comes to mind.

******* baby carrier

It is as much a baby carrier as this one:
Fybertech.com
and yet most people only complain about the dreadknight. I know that people see the penitent engine and think "Damn! There is loosly dressed woman in there!" but if you see past the pilot you will see that the mechanical construction is similar and so there is a female baby carrier ingame already and now there will be a male baby carrier ingame, at least according to your descritption of the model.

If you consider the fact that people like Cosmocrat spent lots of time working on the model for it to look good and work nicely, what do you think your second line looks like? Learn to respect the work of others or there will never be respect for your own work.

No.
The person in the penitent engine isn't wearing armour, and is completely attached.
Besides, it's the SoB, it's not strange for them to have retarded vehicles (organ-artillery amongst other things).
Just...
"The repentant Heretic is hard-wired into the front of the war engine, and unlike Space Marine Dreadnoughts, which are fully enclosed, the penitent sinner is fully exposed to enemy attack, relying only upon the Emperor' judgement to keep them safe or take their life." - wh4kwikia
I know it's a wikia, but still, it makes sense.
However, the baby carrier does not.

That still gives none of you any right to criticize someone's work because you would not want someone to do the same to you. Yes, I respect people's opinions, but not the offensive ones that are against this mod. Just because you all may not find it to your liking doesn't mean you should disrespect it. If you feel so butthurt about this, you may as well turn tail and find some other mod that doesn't have this "baby carrier". Next time think before you judge someone else's hard work that they made their own time for in order to provide us with entertainment. Besides, it would probably have a void shield like the Grey Knight Commander and it's a WIP, so just stop being so judgmental.

My critique of the author even considering modelling this ugly thing isn't justified?
We're all judgemental, including you.

>Next time think before you judge someone else's hard work that they made their own time for in order to provide us with entertainment.
No.
The fact that they upload this means they like hearing people say good things about it, for what reason other than to gain notoriety or to satisfy selfish desires to give people "free" things would you do anything without getting paid?
What I mean is that what we (the consumers) say actually matters in some way, and thus I can only hope that my message gets across and they spend less time on baby carriers and more on... Something else.

>Just because you all may not find it to your liking doesn't mean you should disrespect it.
If I don't like a person's opinions then I don't respect their opinions, and thus I don't respect them either.

Also, where was any disrespectful discussions about this baby carrier taking place?
I say this looks like **** not because the author is bad, on the contrary, if someone made a ****** baby carrier for this mod I would think "Oh, good, nobody wasted talent on that".

FYI, I don't judge people, nor their ambitions. You did that. If you are a UA fan, you would not complain, but I highly doubt that you are. You are just butthurt about how fast and how much production this mod has to offer to models. Not, jealous, just you criticize about it. I was refering to you and to the guy above you named Librarian_Moarfist in this conversation. Just stop it man. There are some things in this mod that I don't favor, but at least I don't talk about them in a judgmental way. Keep your negative comments to yourself because you are against this update.

"The person in the penitent engine isn't wearing armour, and is completely attached.

I don't say this with bad intentions but honestly those arguments are not valid in saying the dreadknight is a baby carrier and the penitent engine is not. To be honest they are both nothing like baby carriers. If you say that the protection of the driver is inefficient i would have to agree but that happens on both.
The fact that SoB is fully attached and the dreadknight isn't and also that SoB has no armour is not reason enough to differenciate them. If the grey knight wore no armour and was fully attached to the walker you would first not call it a grey knight and second still call it a baby carrier.
The fact that most SoB vehicles are "retarded" (your words not mine) still doesn't mean that the penitent engine is ok for them and the dreadknight is not ok for GK. Just saying.
A dreadnought is also fully enclosed because the driver is pretty much as broken as an hedgehog runned over by a car so rather than being for its protection it is a way to keep him alive with life support machines. The driver on the dreadknight on the other side still needs to show himself enough to be promoted to a dreadnought.

Either way, you might like it or not but please respect the work of others like i've stated before. Using depreciative terms about this dreadknight version won't turn it into a dreadknight which is pretty much an oversized GK terminator.

All people have the right to express their opinions as long as it is done in a calm way and without insulting someone else's hard work.

>those arguments are not valid
No, my arguments for why it's a baby carrier are as follows:
The dreadknight has a harness that is reminiscent of those you use to keep children safe (in cars and such).
That it's attached to the front of a humanoid vehicle (two arms, two legs).

Just the harness on anything else would make it look like a roller-coaster seat.

>To be honest they are nothing like baby carriers.
And the argument for that is?

The fact that SoB is fully attached and the dreadknight isn't and also that SoB has no armour IS a good enough of a reason to differentiate between them.
The SoB strap people into those - exposing them to enemy fire - as punishment to allow those condemned to repent.
The gray knights do that for no explainable reason.

I would not call it a baby carrier if the gray knight wasn't wearing armor and he was permanently attached, as long as the harness didn't look like a baby carrier.

>The driver on the dreadknight on the other side still needs to show himself enough to be promoted to a dreadnought
Wait, what? Dreadknights are better than dreadnaughts, dreadknights can go up against greater daemons. And what do you mean be "promoted"? Or are you implying the grey knights use the dreadknights because they like to show off? Because that would be retarded.

Oh, and I don't disrespect, this is a good looking retarded and ugly thing, shame the author spent time on this, but no matter how well you implement a ****** idea and concept it still won't be good.
"******" in the sense that it's not awe-inspiring or interesting, it's fun to laugh at and that's about it.

You are so naive. How long do you plan on keeping this up? You are just so butthurt right now, that I no longer find it even amusing anymore. Let's see here, over 10 people find this update awesome so far, and only 2 of you find it not awesome. You do the math, and your argument, ONCE AGAIN is invalid. :P Grow up man. The disrespect part was mostly for Librarian_Moarfistin but you succeeded in making it something that fits you as well considering your last comments.
Also in my time babies were carried in baskets or inside cloth not in a kanguroo sack so blame me for not considering that was a baby carrier. It is a damn unprotected mech, like it or hate it but it is what it is.

I won't do anymore comments on the subject as this has already gone for too long. What i asked was you to respect others and you don't seem to be able to do that. Please restrain from making further comments if you can't keep it civil and on the constructive side.

Warhammer40k_Fan you have made good points so now leave the conversation to die. There is no use in prolonging this any further. I hope you understand that.

Have a nice day everyone and keep calm, you will live longer.

Die??? What the hell is the matter with you people? GreenScorpion, you are decades older than me and you still prolong this nonsense? I don't know what you all have going on here, but it's weird. I'm here to help enforce justice an making it civil here for my favorite mod, and I'd be damned to let anyone make crude remarks against it. Where I come from GreenScorpion, we stand up for what we appreciate in this life and the UA mod is one of those things that I cherish as my most favorite hobby.

After you have layed out your arguments you give them the silence and they will eventually get silent too. If you continue to answer them things can easily get out of control and people usually end up saying things they shouldn't. Patience is always a virtue.
This is not a war and remaining silent and watching is not retreating it is simply a change of tactic. It is always a good thing to know when to stop.
You will always be the better man if you know when to stop.

For any others:
Constructive criticism is always desirable by most developers including the UA team (they changed chaos marks system several times due to two way feedback if that isn't listening i don't know what is) and so it should be done at this image gallery and other places.

Insults to modding work or to the person that made them is not constructive and has lead modders to leave their communities without finishing their mods. Always communicate with others the way you want others to communicate with you.

...Listen........here we are free to speak for someone's updates but the comments are to be necessary and positive. nr14's immaturity has just shown that he just doesn't like cosmocrat's work. I respect his opinion but not his childish and judgemental insults against this. I may not be as old as you, but I have been in this life long enough to know that being weak and standing on the sidelines is just allowing the people that crave to be better and mean towards the good guy the upper hand and yet, it is just being a coward.....No........I refuse to allow that. I'm no coward. If he really has the guts and the balls, he would talk to one of the UA Crew members face to face. But I see he is just not that brave. If there is a lesson in this, is that no one should have the right to criticize a positive update even if they don't like it. I rest my case gentlemen.

Absolutely correct, GreenScorpion. The best quote I've read. :)

@Warhammer_40K_Fan: There is a difference between critiquing, and then there is bashing. Learn the difference between them.

If they don't like it, I'm sure they can express their opinion or tell the UA mod team what to improve on. If they bash, says "this is f'ing retarded", I'm sure they'll shame themselves. :)

Missing the point 101.

Its not that I am criticizing the model, I am criticizing the Dreadknight itself as an aspect of the lore.

It looks fine for what its supposed to be, it just looks stupid to begin with in the sense of the lore. Its a very common joke at the expense of the Dreadknight. The team didnt make up the idea of a Dreadknight and the world isn't a great big hugbox where criticism doesn't exist, and I doubt GW gives half a **** what anyone thinks of their ideas.

ex of joke: Imgur.com

Are you people even thinking critically at this point? At what point did I say, "oh this modder is just a pinnacle of retardation blah blah blah". Literally at what point did I say ANYTHING like that.

For the record this is a very good piece of work by the team, and they have the right to make it. Warhammer_40k_Fan, just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean they are immature. Perhaps you need to chill out. A lot. And then listen to what other people say.

I don't why people call Dreadknight lore retarded, you can skip the model and skip this unit too if you are so insistence. But for the model, animation, the Dreadnknight will look too good to be true, I will love to use the new toys the Grey Knight added to their arsenals.

Description

As you can see all major parts of the Dread Knight are now finished and i'll start adding gameplay relevant mechanics such as animations and code soon. You might as well notice that the previous Grey Knight was swapped with a GK Terminator from the IDH Mod now to look more fancy. FX for swords, eyes and more will be added by post processing within the Object Editor no worries guys.

Have a nice day!
