What is Tumultus Deathmatch?
Tumultus Deathmatch began as an experiment, with the sole aim of producing a comminity made mod. The story was set and anyone could produce anything and learn new things as they went along. This was all well and good, and it almost succeeded too, the code was 95% done, the weapon models were in and animated, there were playable maps. But right at the end the lack of team structure caused work on the mod to breakdown, and it never got released :(
Fast forward a couple of years to the New Tumultus. The premise is the same, most of the weapons are the same, with a few new surprises ;) The team has shrunk to a few dedicated members working on this mod alone, and everything is getting an overhaul. The code is being ported to OB and being updated, the weapon models are being remade and reanimated and this time we will release a slick polish product we can all be proud of.
The story remains the same as before, you play as either an upper class security guy, complete with high tech power armour and advanced weaponry, or a lower class engineer type, with manufactured body armour, less sophisticaed but just as deadly weapons. This is deathmatch at its best, theres no realistic weapon damage here, just fast paced, highly destructive gameplay
We've been hard at work on the mod over the last week or so, but we've also been looking into getting the community more involved. To that end we've recreated the Tumultus Deathmatch Forums. These will hopefully become our main outlet with regards to media and ideas, and to start with we've created a poll that will help to decide one of the most important features of the mod... The weapon allocations!
