What was Tumultus? Tumultus Deathmatch began as an experiment, with the sole aim of producing a comminity made mod. The story was set and anyone could produce anything and learn new things as they went along. This was all well and good, and it almost succeeded too. What is Tumultus? The premise is the same, most of the weapons are the same, with a few new surprises ;) The team has shrunk to a few dedicated members working on this mod alone, and everything is getting an overhaul.

OK, Since my last new's post where I vowed to shelve this project till I had a dedicated team. That Dedicated team appears to have placed themselves at my feet. So once again everyones invigorated and excited to be working on the project and once again I feel theres a good chance we can actually get this released.

That said we've taken quite a big step back in that we're updating all the code. This means our new coder is pretty much starting from scratch with a lot of things, although most of the weapons should just cut and paste with very little need for modifications, some of the more complex ones are going to need re-looking at. We've also got plenty more insane ideas for weapons to be added.

So far the Hud is in production, we decided to mess it up a little and move drastically away from the hl2 hud. We'll also be using graphical textures instead of fonts for the weapon images etc. Currently that's pretty much coded and just needs fine tuning and the graphics creating. Our coder has also been working on the new knives, and has successfully coded in a basic combo system. Hopefully this will add a bit more depth to meleeing, do you go for lots of small less damaging/faster attacks? or do you try and pull off a combo for a one hit kill? We should have some video action of that up later on hopefully. I've also uploaded a vid of the snades in action from the previous code. These are pretty much done now, so once the code is transferred over, this will pretty much be the final result.

And Finally we have a new Dedicated Mapper on the team and would like to welcome him, hopefully we'll have some nice shots of new maps soon. I'll keep you updated as to what and when!
