The mod is pretty much Classic Battletech but put into more of TA's scale of battle. it supposed to feel and emulate most of the classic battle tech universe yet still be a fun rts like TA, with the obvious restrictions of the TA engine. Right now it is in beta testing phase, and there are 2 factions. inner sphere and clan, 2 tiers light and medium. The last tier is being worked on now which which will have the heavies and assault class mechs, vehicles, and air support. It will probably be included in the next release. After its release I will probably fill in a few holes with some more units to help game play and balance.

The first stable version, 1.40 is out. So go download it and play. This will also be the 2nd to last release of this mod, so any requests or suggests for the final release should starting coming in now. More updates to come on next release and some more detailed info for the current release.

Total Battletech 1.40!

Before installation remove any previous TBT and or Mechwars files (including custom EXE, rev31.mwp, mw.mwo, mw2.mwo). Drop/ unzip files (rev31.mwp and TotalBT.EXE) into directory that Total Annihilation is installed in. Default for total annihilation is usually "c:\cavedog\totala". Run using TotalBT.EXE (must have Total Annihilation Play disc in for skirmishes, or multiplayer) Multiplayer does not require a disk if the Totala2.hpi file (ie: multiplayer spawn) is installed in the Total Annihilation directory. Single player campaign does not work, so don't bother report that as a bug, as no one has made any campaigns... (yet?) :)

The new modded EXE will allow for play of any CC BT and 3rd party maps with out modifying thier extinsions. If you have maps from previous versions in .mwo .mwx or mwi extensions just renames them to .ufo.
