This modification offers an alternative gameplay to Tiberian Wars involving many Tiberian Sun units which many CnC fans (like me) missing in vanilla CNC3 and add even new my made units which you can't find anywhere else. Story is quite the same like Tiberian Wars, but is all about what if GDI and Nod do not abandon technologies they have used in Tiberian Sun era and instead of that further developed them. But it's not only that, there are many visual, sound and balance changes which I want to see and hear in my mod, new sounds, new music, new effects (like blood and gore, new infantry deaths, new more realistic missile trails) and many more.

No, its like bridge, you must destroy it.

This is very cool and a great looking ice bridge - great work Carnius! I am curious too, if it's somehow repairable or not; it's fine by me that it isn't repairable by players, but maybe it automatically "repairs" itself in time, due to the freezing? And is this placed on the map as a single prop or like a normal bridge?

This makes my maps even easier then before. TY carnius!
only missing the repair place.
same question as .Mac. is it self repair?

only way to self repair would be having your soldiers throw buckets of fast-freeze chemicals into the water or waiting 3 in-game months for immersion purposes pardon the pun :-p

Seriously tho, it's an ice bridge, i don't think there will be a way to "autorepair" it. Would make fights interesting if one was forced to attack the enemy with air or sea only due to the bridge collapse.

You are right, realistically it'd take a long while for an ice bridge such as this to form again on its own after it's been (completely) destroyed, which is why I wouldn't be opposed if Carnius decides to have it be a one time deal and "unrepairable".

On the other hand, when any segment of the ice bridge is destroyed, if he could show it as large, broken, floating ice masses (so the ice will stay visible, but it'll just appear shattered and in some pieces), so that way the ice masses can more realistically refreeze and solidify together in a matter of time and can be traversed again (in homage to TS). I'd be happy with this also.

So the ice bridge should either "naturally" reform itself from broken floating pieces (my vote) or not at all imo - I'd say no to it having repair structures on either side for the engineers (leave that for the man-made bridges).

possible,
Only that ice bridge needs to be a LOT stronger then the regular bridges.

Not nesecarily. How many people fall through ce a year? I rest my case. Regarding the weight thing, C&C 3 isnt that advanced cuz EA puts more time into kickass graphics than they do their game engine. What all newer C&C games need is a Westwood syle engine overhaul.

I'm more looking to the gameplay at this point.
Ice bridge that does not repair needs to be stronger then a normal bridge. you want to use it a bit more then just ones.
(example C&C RA1 bridges, they were strong since you can't repair them.)

Fair enough. Id like to see this on the TE Frozen River map. Id also like to see the falcon and tempest get the problematic "water mode" turned back into jump jets.

I dont own any but i have gotten the chance to play around on Tiberian Sun. My computer can run C&C 3 with graphics maxed so the visuals on TS werent super impresive but the level of complexity was better than what I expect from EA, and untill then, 'Id never even heard of Westwood! I wish EA would get their head out of their a$$ and put some effort into C&C.

That is very true. But then again, in TS the ice refroze quite quickly. I think it would be interesting to have the bridge refreze simply because that way you cant just destroy the bridge and dismiss any chance of attack from that direction

This is great, and is the reason why we all worship you.

Although, as everyone else has asked, will they be repairable through a hut, or will it just be a timed repair, or if you cannot repair them at all.

The bridges can be coded to regenerate themselves, and I assume these Ice Bridges mimic that code for the most part.

Surely it doesn't make a lot of sense to refreeze, unless the ice bridge was lowered almost into the water. ATM it would just respawn in the air.

Looks *awesome* but i hope it DOESN'T repair/refreeze, that would be a nice feature to set it apart from the normal bridge type and also add realism.

Now, I don't know how the CnC3 engine works or anything, but could it be possible to classify the bridge as infantry, thus making it "die" if run over by heavy vehicles?

Truly genius' strike! Things often go like this with Carnius:

1-Someone asks for a feature present in TS (Gates, destroyable ice, etc.)
2-Carnius replies that the CnC 3 engine code can't support such feature.
3-Despite that, Carnius comes with a workaround to implement such feature.

Keep it up!

Hey Carnius I need some help I tried to install the 0.51 mod and I did what the instructions said to do, but the problem is that when it said if the mod folder (in the Tiberium Wars folder) isn't there (which it isn't)you have to create it, well I tried crating the folder (by right clicking and then left clicking on create folder)then I put the mod in the folder but when I went to Game Browser and selected mods it wasn't there. So I'm stumped, can you please help me out?

A question for bridges in general, I think it would be cool if when you destroyed one part of the bridge, the rest of the bridge collapses. (like RA3) Is it possible to do that?

Description

What we have here is ice bridge or ice crossing or how we shall call it :D It shall simulate frozen part of river or lake that can be broken or destroyed. We cant create "real ice" like in Tiberian sun due cnc3 engine limitations but we can have bridge that looks like made from ice.
