Do you think this de-snowed texture looks better, or do you prefer the green smudge texture from Renegade?

I'd say that this looks better.

Depends on whether you want to suggest via the texture that the tiberium melts any snow immediately adjacent to it or not.

Cold climate slows down Tiberium growth considerably.

Tiberium Can't grow in deserts (hot or frozen), is slowed by cold climates and has adapted to be Tiberium algae in water.

Now that is new. Because in TS, Everything was desert, and Tiberium grew all over it.

And considering that Deserts have a massive quantity of nutrients in the ground, it's ideal soil for Tiberium.

uh in pretty much every tiberium universe game the majority of the maps are desert. or at the very minimum the fringe of the desert. unless Slye means temperate zone vs. desert zone. climate wise.

It can grow in deserts and frozen places, just that it's extremely slowed down. As for water, Adam Isgreen has said that Tiberium can't grow in water, but there was Tiberium algae in FS, so take that as you will. Though he did say that that was "something else", and that it was only floating above water and came from normal ground (or something of the sort) and that the high salt concentration in sea water messed with Tiberium, or at least, its mutagenic properties.

i think we should all compromise and say i can grow evrywhere but slowly in water/on ice unless its tiberium algea

From what i remember in the manual, Tiberium grows like a tropical plant, growing best in tropical (i.e hot and damp) conditions, however it can grow in many kinds of environment, just some slower than others.

I like this texture the way it is. Will tiberium replace itself more slowly on snow maps than on desert maps?

I like this too. The Renegade smudge never really did fit well.
