This is the GDI pitbull with the "old" model, but better wheels and it can be upgraded with missile pods (right) from the Command Post.

I don't know. The Pitbull was always the one thing that annoyed me on C&C 3.. I think its the front. I feel GDI would reinforce the front to better protect people that show cover it like they have it. And I have to ask that, too. Is there no mortar?

actually with the one they had i preferred the mortar to the missles since it was more AOE and had an even better range than the rockets

No, no more mortar, but better anti-infantry firepower.

Maybe mortar as another upgrade? What about that, Helge? :-)

Nah, but the missiles already have a small AOE and longer range. If I give the Pitpull a mortar upgrade, I will have to give the Nod Buggy a long range weapon as well to balance things out. But I might scrap the Pitbull completely and replace it with the Wolverine.

Increased range, I assume it doesn't have a further reach than the laser turret, that'd be a problem. I don't like the mortar that much as I rarely encounter infantry past the very start of the game. As far as I'm concerned it will not be missed.
If it gets imbalanced, which I doubt, due to the wolverines being used in tandem, you might want to add a weak machine gun like the harvester's.

I think keep both the pitbull , no mortar, and keep the wolverine in too, Meanwhile making APC anti Infantry a bit weaker. I think that would basically balance things out keeping the APC still usefull as garrisons right? .. maybe im wrong but its a thought.

So it is the "older" open topped model, fluff wise they were used between TW 2 and 3 and were replaced by the fully enclosed version at the later.
