Thrawn's Revenge is a large-scale mod for Empire at War: Forces of Corruption. It includes the events of the Galactic Civil War after Palpatine's death at Endor, up until the signing of the Pellaeon-Gavrisom treaty. If you own the Steam version of EaW, you will have to complete extra steps to run the mod after installation. Please see the manual for these steps.

An explanation of the leaders, situation and navy of the Imperial Remnant in the mod.

Posted by on

In development news, all of the space units and heroes for the Imperial Remnant have been finished, which is what makes this update possible. For land, their last three units are currently being skinned. Before we go anywhere with this, I want to direct the attention of anyone who has not read it yet to the June Update, or else this one will not make as much sense as it should. So now that you've read that, you know we've divided the tech levels up chronologically between 5 prominent Imperial leaders. In Imperial Civil War, there will be at least 6 GCs (Possibly more set around specific events, but these 6 for sure). One per leader, and then one that covers all 5.

Leader: Ysanne Isard
Flagship: Lusankya
Base Planet: Coruscant
Heroes: Delak Krennel, Soontir Fel, Evir Derricote, Malcor Brashin
Era GC Name: Fractured Empire
Era GC Minor Factions: Pentastar Alignment, Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium, Hapes Consortium, Warlord Zsinj

Ysanne Isard was a former intelligence officer who rose through the ranks to become the Director of Imperial Intelligence, a post formerly held by her father, Armand. After the Emperor's death she became an advisor to Sate Pestage and the Ruling Council, playing them off against each other. Eventually she became the ruler of the Empire. Her campaign represents the closest of the starting points for all of the leaders to the former Empire. She controls a large part of the galaxy, and is the only one to start with Coruscant. Of all the leaders, her and Daala are the only ones with the ability to manufacture the Executor class, and she is the only one with TIE Defenders. Her and the clone of Palpatine are the only ones with access to the Tector.

Space Units:
Tector, Imperial-I Star Destroyer, Imperial-II Star Destroyer, Strike Cruiser, Victory-I Star Destroyer, Victory-II Star Destroyer, Carrack Cruiser, Immobilizer-418, Dreadnaught, Interdictor, Executor, Lancer, Escort Carrier, TIE Fighter, TIE Bomber, TIE Interceptor, TIE Defender

Leader: Thrawn
Flagship: Chimaera
Heroes: Freja Covell, Brandei, Dorja, Joruus C'baoth, Niles Ferrier, Turr Phennir
Era GC Name: Heir to the Empire
Base Planet: Bastion

A former officer in the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet, Grand Admiral Thrawn was inducted into the Imperial Navy some time after the formation of the Galactic Empire. He rose through the ranks, displaying his tactical and strategic skill until Palpatine promoted him to Grand Admiral in place of the traitor, Zaarin, who he hunted down and killed. He is the first to have access to the Star Galleon and Strike Cruiser. He does not have access to any unique space units, except for the Nebulon-B, Nebulon-B2, and Katana Dreadnaught, however his tactical and strategic skill, and the ability of Joruus C'baoth to coordinate his forces provide a major advantage for the Empire. He has access to some cloaking ships, and on Wayland can quickly produce ground troops and pilots far superior to any in the New Republic. He can also produce Noghri strike teams on Honoghr.

Space Units:
Imperial-I Star Destroyer, Imperial-II Star Destroyer, Strike Cruiser, Carrack Cruiser, Immobilizer-418, Dreadnaught, Interdictor, Victory-I Star Destroyer, Victory-II Star Destroyer, Vindicator, Nebulon-B, Nebulon-B2, Star Galleon, Escort Carrier, Katana Dreadnaught, Lancer, TIE Fighter, TIE Bomber, TIE Interceptor

Leader: Palpatine
Flagship: Eclipse
Base Planet: Byss
Heroes: Sedriss QL, Carnor Jax, Gilad Pellaeon, Maximilian Veers
Era GC Name: Shadow Hand
Era GC Minor Factions: Pentastar Alignment, Hapes Consortium

Emperor Palpatine's first body was killed at Endor by Darth Vader, however Palpatine survived Vader's treachery and fled to Byss, where he entered one of his clone bodies, and oversaw the construction of his fleet and flagship, the Eclipse, while the New Republic and Imperial Warlords fought for the control of the galaxy around them. When he did reveal himself, his large fleet managed to recapture many New Republic worlds. He is the only Imperial leader who has access to the Sovereign, TIE Droid, and along with Isard the Tector. He is the first to have access to the Modular Taskforce Cruiser, and the last to have access to the Interdictor Star Destroyer.

Space Units:
Sovereign, Tector, Imperial-I Star Destroyer, Imperial-II Star Destroyer, Strike Cruiser, Carrack Cruiser, Immobilizer-418, Dreadnaught, Interdictor, Victory-I Star Destroyer, Victory-II Star Destroyer, Modular Taskforce Cruiser, Escort Carrier, TIE Fighter, TIE Bomber, TIE Interceptor, TIE Droid.

Leader: Natasi Daala
Flagship: Knight Hammer
Base Planet: The Maw/Bastion
Heroes: Cronus, Gilad Pellaeon, Turr Phennir
Era GC Name: Reunification
Era GC Minor Factions: Hapes Consortium, Duskhan League

Natasi Daala is an Admiral in the Imperial Navy, and the former lover of Grand Moff Tarkin. She became disgusted with the squabbling between Imperial warlords, and began working to unite them. She gathered most of the important ones at Tsoss Beacon, and executed them. She then began to work with Cronus and Pellaeon to destroy the New Republic. She does not have access to any special units, however she has the ability to build Howlrunners, due to the declining availability of facilities to mass produce the iconic TIE Fighter.

Space Units:
Executor, Imperial-I Star Destroyer, Imperial-II Star Destroyer, Strike Cruiser, Carrack Cruiser, Lancer, Immobilizer-418, Dreadnaught, Victory-I Star Destroyer, Victory-II Star Destoyer, Vindicator, Modular Taskforce Cruiser, Star Galleon, Escort Carrier, TIE Fighter, TIE Bomber, I-7 Howlrunner

Leader: Gilad Pellaeon
Flagship: Chimaera
Base Planet: Bastion
Heroes: Sinister Triumvirate, Meihz Vermel
Era GC Name: Caamas Crisis
Era GC Minor Factions: Hapes Consortium, Duskhan League

Gilad Pellaeon has served in the military since before the Clone Wars, when he was a Judicial soldier in the Republic. He worked his way up to become a Captain in the Imperial Navy by Endor, and was the one to order the retreat there after the deaths of the Emperor and Grand Admirals present at the battle. During Thrawn's campaign, he was the Grand Admiral's protege. He then served under the Reborn Emperor and Natasi Daala until the retirement of the latter. He lacks TIEs, and has the superior though far less numerous Preybirds and Howlrunners instead. His ships also make wide use of cloaking shields. Where Thrawn has access to smaller cloaking ships, such as carracks, Pellaeon has access to cloaking Star Destroyers.

Space Units:
Imperial-I Star Destroyer, Imperial-II Star Destroyer, Strike Cruiser, Carrack Cruiser, Lancer, Immobilizer-418, Dreadnaught, Victory-I Star Destroyer, Victory-II Star Destoyer, Vindicator, Modular Taskforce Cruiser, Star Galleon, Escort Carrier, Preybird, TIE Bomber, I-7 Howlrunner

That's all for now. Full unit lists and information on ICW will be going up on our site as soon as the upgrade is finished. Next update will either focus on New Republic or campaign layouts. Or something else entirely.
