Probably the most popular mod for the original Mount & Blade v1.011 - now also for Warband!
nicely done. loved the whole wiseman, story telling thing
I noticed the save merp on your picture wtf is wb thinking there are hundreds of LOTR mods including some like the total war mod that use clips from the actual movies as cutscenes

That's... that's... >_> ehmmm
I think I lack the vocabulary needed to describe this.
Wait a second. Tracking. :)
I could watch this everyday. :)
Remove the "could"...
I have positive and negative comments, almost everything is great, music, sound effects, drawn art and effects. Writing could be improved upon, voice acting was dire.
Please for the love of god when you release the mod, please, please give us a no voice subtitled version. I applaud the effort but the voice acting and audio quality was awful. Great art and a well made video though.
Also, did I hear it right, suave Haradrim? I laughed so hard, are they are going to charm us to death? :D
I think you mean swarty. (swawr-thee)
Everything else about this mod is very, very impressive, well done.
I thought the same thing, maybe if they can get a female to to the voice over, that would be great I think!
You think on Lady Galadriel now, and I do acctualy like it more with the man voice, like a old wizard/story teller or somthing is telling the story the female voice is to normal...
The voice actor (in this case it's the composer of our soundtrack ;)) is Australian, so it may be an accent thing with the Haradrim.
thank you for your comments on my voice work, kasabian.
The word, i believe, was 'swarth' from the paper i read from. and perhaps for fear of pops or hiss' i was forced to pronounce certain words differently to how i would natural. And without the english accent, of course.
Perhaps it is best if you play with volume off as you will hear my 'dire' voice many times in game. Regretfully when the dev team called for narration specialists only two such armchair professionals came forward. Good on them. The team went with my little effort for better or worse, there were things more important to the actual game to worry about.
So please feel free to enjoy the mod we laboured over upon release, and don't be shy to spare any insults when you do.
I thought you sounded like a true Gondorian :)
Very late comment, I know, but I just had to!
i have always dreamt of playing an lotr game in 3d-ish, when i discovered m&b my hunger was satisfied, but not for long. when this mod comes out, it will change my live
kick *** man, kick ***
Well done ;)
I did not think voice acting was all that bad, I would give it a 7/10. And to just be 'another person' without specially enhanced voices (that I know of) I thought it was decent. It's better than just music, eh? And you would not want all your modding time dedicated to a part of the game that doesn't really affect it. It's just voices, polish it later in a patch ;)
Downloading this right now :)
The voice was just slightly out of place in the begining, as in you can tell it doesn't belong but as the video went on it got better. It is rather hard to do voice's for a mod and make them sound like they belong even if there is no person behind the voice but you did a fine job.
awesome why the hell is first saw this mod in the top 100 I should have seen this far earlier!
In my view of the narrator voice, sounds more like somekind of a speech of Saruman about the ways of the fate of the peoples of Middle-earth in the upcoming war, rather than a "wise old man story-teller". It is a harsh narrative, but I think it was meant to be this way. Quite well done trailer in overall, indeed.
Glory for Gondor!!!!!
