The Gate II is the long awaited sequel to the hit Half-life 1 mod 'The Gate'.
It is a FULL conversion of Half-life 2 and hence will have all models changed, all skins, all new weapons!
Using the power of The Half-life 2 engine, The Gate II will bring alive the world like never before! The story continues from where the last game left off, this time The TimeGate will take the player to amazing new world in distant universes. Unlike the first Game The Gate II will feature many more enemies to fight! Some Alien some Human and a few more besides.. We have a full inventory of Professional voice actors on our team so The Gate II will of course feature a full movie style script. The Gate II like its predecessor will also be released with a full classical musical score.

Yes, the mod needs to be fixed in very much things, due to recent updates to the 'Source' engine, and very much other things.
All of this will be fixed in 'The Gate 2 v1.5' I'm doing. Just be patient and take a look at the last news at the 'Facebook Webzone' of the mod.

Hi there;
Here I left a guide about how to download and install the mod for those who don't know how to do it:
1 - Download the files (from moddb.com):
A) Gate II zip 1 --> gate2zip1.7z
B) Gate II zip 2 --> gate2zip2.7z
C) Gate II Patch 2 revised --> gate2_II_patch2_revised.7z
2 - Decompress the files following this order:
A) gate2zip1.7z --> C:\
B) gate2zip2.7z --> C:\TheGate2
C) gate2_II_patch2_revised.7z --> C:\TheGate2 (OVERWRITE ALL)
TOTAL: Files: 92.174 / Folders: 3.208
IMPORTANT: You HAVE to decompress the files just in the root of 'C:\', or other unit, but just in the root of it, due to how the mod is done, for no one file can be omitted or lost. This is the best way to ensure all the files are good extracted.
3 - Close the 'Steam' Client.
4 - Cut and paste the 'TheGate2' Folder, into the path:
C:\Instalaciones\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods
IMPORTANT: Note that I have installed 'Steam' into the folder 'Instalaciones'.
I always install 'Steam', or at the root of the unit 'C:\', or in a different and also short named, folder, due to some games when modded, needs a path as short as possible to load the game files, or the files of the mod of the game, good. Also, you have the possibility of to install the game just straight in its own path when installing thru 'Steam'. Some examples of games that are affected by this, are: 'Skyrim', and 'Half-Life 2' themself.
5 - Open 'Steam' Client.
6 - The Name of the Mod will appear as 'TheGate2', in your 'Steam Games Library List'.
7 - You can now run the game by these ways:
A) Selecting it in your list (left), and clicking the green button 'PLAY' (right).
B) Right click on the name of the mod, and selecting 'PLAY' with green background.
C) Just Double Click over the name of the mod.
That's all.
