The Gate II is the long awaited sequel to the hit Half-life 1 mod 'The Gate'.

It is a FULL conversion of Half-life 2 and hence will have all models changed, all skins, all new weapons!

The story continues from where the last game left off, this time The TimeGate will take the player to amazing new world in distant universes. GATE II - PATCH 2

The first error corrected by this patch is invulnerability that some have been experiencing from the mars maps onwards..

The second error corrected by this patch is a texture problem with a truck..

The Third error corrected is Anna Appearing out of thin air in one of the Uboat Maps..

A New HUD has been added to The Gate II

This Patch also makes the first 3 maps easier for the player after reports by players it was too difficult

--INSTRUCTIONS--

Unzip the file and drag all the folders in the patch into your Gate IIĀ  and on prompt overwrite your existing map files already in there..

Sorry man, I loved this mod so much, but I felt I could have loved it more. There were so many plot holes it made my head spin. I can still see so much potential behind this mod, but it fell so flat and ended to adbruptly. Real shame, yet still worth the wait to me.
If you ever decide to take up modding again in the future, I would be more than happy to help out. Really, the option is there.

sorry you didnt like the story or the end.. atleast you played it to the end.

another mod? another game? after 9 years mate and two mods and the way the gate II has been received ive had my fill trust me.

Over that time i can see how gaming and the content of gaming is changing. Its not a good a change in my view.

Still, this all being said. There are many admirable aspects I find in the mod, the abundance of custom content and beautiful map making and scripted sequences make this quite a gem in the HL2 mod collection. Despite other people's reactions and some of my own, this is something to be very very proud of. Be proud of it. I sure couldnt make something to this standard, but you did. It's a deffinite achievement. I hope you go on to make even more brilliant creations for people to enjoy.

ricky thats a texture issue... i.e textures are missing thats why you get that purple and black grid... you sure you installed part 2 correctly? as in materials folder into the gate II folder? try reinstalling part 2 again ricky

I originally started playing this mod but could not get passed the bugs and gave up. Since then however I have had a bit of time on my hands so decided to play the patched version and I am glad I did. This game is so funny and annoying but in a funny way I really enjoyed this. I can see why this would not appeal to everyone but I thought it was very funny. I was confused about the story at times but really enjoyed playing it nonethless. The maps are brilliant, the humour is witty albeit a bit childlike…

It's the first time I've been absolutely infuriated this quickly by a mod. Honestly I've played a lot of mods that were disappointing but this one takes the crown. The things that bothered me the most: - The cinematics you have implemented are extremely bare, way too long and tasteless. I don't even know what I was seeing there's absolutely no context given at all. - The first map has a delay on the beginning of the intro cinematic.
