still have not installed the patch. I wanted to see first... I don't know why people complain... This was one of the most well-done and funniest driving sequences ever made in a HL2 mod.

I mean, have you played Strider Mountain and Coastline To Atmosphere? Because these ones are complete piece of sh*t, when it comes to driving sequences. Here, it's not that difficult, hell, I'm sure I can do it without dying once if I re-do it from the beginning. There aren't even any tricks, just drive, hit bad guys, avoid some **** on the road, and that's it.

I don't want to throw flowers at the developer, I mean maybe it will turn to crap now, but that driving sequence was really cool, that's it.

I actually zoomed through the chase sequence in one go. I was astonished to learn so many people had problems with it, I assume it's better with the patches now.

I had to try over 15 times in that driving sequence. I didn't mind how difficult it was and it was very well designed but a lot of times clutter would clip through the car and kill me, in other areas the car would get stuck and I'd be killed by the police. The patch definitely helped it and without noticeably changing it that much.

hmmm the beta testers also found it to be 'ok' but a large number of people complained so i made it easier... i advise you patch it as it sorts some problems out later on in the game.. such as invulnerability...

I have loved the first Gate on HL1. So when I have heard about Gate 2 and it science-fiction's ambiance this time, I was very excited. I hope a game with the same ambiance than Titan XCIX.

But in the end, the mod is disappointed. First, there are exactly the same problems than in the first mod. The build of the story is horrible and childish. The difficulty is poorly balanced.

Second, with these problems, who can be tolerated in a HL1 mod. we have no new weapons unlike in Gate 1. The level design is not bad, but it's clearly lacking inspiration. Using HL² contents in a universe different of the Half-Life's universe is complicated I know. But in the end it's ruins the ambiance. Same problem when the mod using Alyx or Breen's models, for new characters (Specifically when one of this character had a different model in Gate 1).

The mod is not clearly bad. Not if we compared with other Source mod. But in fact we have the impression that this mod is just a new HL1 mod. And for a Source mod, I'm afraid it's not enough. I know it's complicated to create new textures, models, weapons, on Source. And I don't expected a mod like Black Mesa of course. But I think I would have prefer a Gate 2 with the HL1 engine.

It's a shame, but apparently when it's about Source's mods, there are only "very goods" and "middling" mods. I hope some mods like Hazard Course on BM or Wilson Chronicles, will change this. I would have like to say the same thing about the Part 2 of Titan, Episode Two of 1187 or Dangerous World 2, but I'm afraid these mods are dead now. And I don't forgot Opposing Forces 2.

It's the first time I've been absolutely infuriated this quickly by a mod. Honestly I've played a lot of mods that were disappointing but this one takes the crown. The things that bothered me the most: - The cinematics you have implemented are extremely bare, way too long and tasteless. I don't even know what I was seeing there's absolutely no context given at all. - The first map has a delay on the beginning of the intro cinematic. I was free roaming in a room with skewered ragdolls and an extremely…
